RANDY R. SHRODES,  55, of N. 9th Street, Martins Ferry, Ohio died Thursday, September 2, 2010.
Randy was born in Martins Ferry, Ohio on May 8, 1955,  the son of the late Lloyd L. and Marlyn J. (Travis) Shrodes.
He was a former assistant Water Superintendent for the City of Martins Ferry for 25 years. He was also a memeber of the Grim Reapers Motorcycle Club.
He is survived by his son, Jeremy M. (Pamela) Shrodes and daughter, Mallory J Shrodes, "His Cutie Pie" both of Martins Ferry; two grandsons, Donavon and Dominick Shrodes, Martins Ferry. 
Memorial service was held at the funeral home Thursday, Septermber 9, 2010 at 7 p.m. with Rev. William O. Webster, Jr. officiating.

JOSEPH M. MATYSIAK, 61, of  Martins Ferry, OH, died at Saturday, September 11, 2010. 
Joe was born in Martins Ferry, Ohio on March 28, 1949,  the son of the late John and Mary (Wahonick) Matysiak.
He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and the Italian Club both of Martins Ferry. He was a retired employee of the former Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel, Beech Bottom Plant. 
He is survived by eight cousins, Joanne Calfa, John Matysiak, James Matysiak, Carol Grady, Jeffrey Juniewich, Patty Allen, Donald Wahonick ,Ronald Wahonick and several other cousins in ILL and PA.  
Funeral Liturgy with Mass was celebrated Wednesday, September 15, 2010 at St. Mary's Catholic Church at 10 a.m. with Rev. Tom Marut as the celebrant.
Interment  followed in St. Mary's Cemetery, Martins Ferry. 
Memorial contributions may be made to Jefferson Co. Humane Society, P. O. Box 233, Steubenville, OH 43952.

GEORGE F. BAZAR,  90, formerly of 11th Street, Martins Ferry, Ohio, died Sunday, September 12, 2010.  
George was born in Martins Ferry, Ohio on July 19, 1920,  a son of the late Joseph and Mary Ann (Klein) Bazar.
He was a retired employee of the former Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel, Martins Ferry Plant . He was a member of Grace Presbyterian Church, Martins Ferry; member of the former Eagles Lodge, also of Martins Ferry. George also won the Golden Gloves in boxing.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary K. (Harris) Bazar; five brothers: Frank, Charles, Joseph, Raymond and Roy Bazar; sister, Mary Shemenski.
He is survived by  son, George T. (Julie) Bazar, Tiffin, Ohio; daughter, Delores R. Bazar, Boynton Beach, FL; two brothers, Bill and Tom (Evelyn) Bazar; four sisters, Helen Doughty, Violet Padgelek, Delores George and Goldie Gray; close friend, Peg Tracey. He is also survived by four grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. 
 Funeral service was held at the Grace Presbyterian Church, Tuesday, September 14, 2010 at 1 p.m. with Rev. William O. Webster, Jr officiating.
Interment  followed in Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove, Ohio.
The Elders of the church held bereavement services at the funeral home Monday at 7 p.m.






RUTH ELEANOR MOORE, 96, of Brownlee Drive, Nashville, TN and formerly of Smithfield, OH died Saturday, September 11, 2010 in Nashville.
She was born in Brookside, OH on August 28,1914, she was the daughter of the late Edwin and Eleanor (Robinson) Wilson.
She was a retired School Teacher having taught in the Kentucky school district.
 In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Arnold Moore; sister, Gladys Campbell; two brothers, Ralph and Ernest Wilson.
She is survived by a daughter, Eleanor A Moore, of Nashville. 
Private graveside services was held at Riverview Cemetery, Martins Ferry with Pastor Van D. Fisher officiating. 


JEANETTE  VELOSKI, age 70, of St. Clairsville, Ohio, formerly of Martins Ferry, died , Friday, October 8th, 2010 at Park Health Center.
Jeanette was born in Martins Ferry, Ohio on July 28, 1940,  she was a daughter of the late William and Jenny (Kornacki) Veloski.
She was a retired admissions clerk for East Ohio Regional Hospital, where she was employed for 27 years. Jeanette was also a member of Prayer Hill Church of God.
She is survived by two sisters, Deanna Veloski and Betty Neavin; and one aunt, Nellie Covington, all of Martins Ferry.
Funeral service was held at the funeral home on Tuesday, October 12, 2010  at 12 p.m. with Pastor Michael Ream officiating. 
Interment  followed  in  Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove, Ohio.

DAVID R. CAMPBELL, 63, of Pearl Street, Martins Ferry, OH, died Tuesday, November 2, 2010 at East Ohio Regional Hospital. 
Dave was born in Smithburg, WV on March 6, 1947, a son of the late Thelbert R. and Laura J. (Harper) Campbell.
He is survived by his wife, Charlotte (Hickman) Campbell; son, David E. Campbell of Wheeling; brother, Richard (Donna) Campbell of Salem, WV.; three granddaughters, Katelin, Molly and Brynn Campbell.
Services were held at the convenience of the family.


JACKIE  K. (FREESE)  TITTLE,  56, of Glenn Robbins, OH , died Saturday, November 6, 2010 at her residence. 
She was born in Martins Ferry on April 27, 1954, a daughter of the late Jack and Ruth (Patterson)  Freese.
Jackie was a beautician for 38 years and worked at Tami's Hair Salon. She was highly dedicated to her family and work.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one sister and two brothers.
She is survived by her husband, Donald Sr.; four sons, Luke Olenar, Daniel Olenar, Donald Tittle, Jr., and Alex Freese; three sisters, Karen Moore, Brenda Russell and Kathy Black; one brother, Richard Freese; five grandchildren ; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service was held at the funeral home on Wednesday, November 10, 2010  at 3:30 p.m. with Rev. Larry Lewis officiating.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the family to help defray funeral expenses.

CYNTHIA LOU PAUL, 58, formerly of Kuckuck Lane, Martins Ferry, OH died Saturday, December 4, 2010.  
She was born in Martins Ferry, Ohio on December 18, 1951, a daughter of the late John and Stella R. (Biela) Paul.
She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Martins Ferry.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one brother, Michael Hajdin; sister, Frances Roy.
She is survived by  three sisters, Nancy J. (Ronald) Spielvogel, Martins Ferry, OH; Joan T. (Robert) Lurty, St. Clairsville, OH; Dorothy J. Roy, Wheeling, WV; brother Lawrence J. (Joyce) Roy, Colerain, OH and several nieces and nephews.
She will be sadly missed by family and all who new and loved her.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Keller Funeral Home, 615 Hanover Street, Martins Ferry where friends will be received Monday 6 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday, December 7, 2010 from Noon until time of service at 1 p.m. with Rev. Tom Marut officiating. 
Interment followed  in Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove, OH.

THOMAS J. "TOM" STRAUSS,  67, of  Martins Ferry, Ohio , died Sunday, December 12, 2010.
Tom was born in West Bellaire, OH on January 14, 1943, a son of the late John W. and Elizabeth (Nemeti) Strauss.
He was a retired machinist having worked for the former Wheeling Pittsbugh Steel Yorkville Plant.
 He was a member of the former Martins Ferry and Bridgeport Eagles: Yorkville V.F.W.; Italian Club of Martins Ferry.
 In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by, two brothers, William and Carl Strauss.
In addition to his wife, Caroline (Nagel),  he is survived by two daughters, Stephanie Sue (Jonathan) Speidel, Killeen, TX and Michelle Lynn Engleman, fiance' Michael Marchio, Martins Ferry, OH; five grandsons, Zachary, T.J., Cody, Chris, Sean-Paul.  
Funeral service was held at the funeral home on Wednesday, December 15, 2010 at 7 p.m. with Rev. William O. Webster, Jr. officiating.


MONA O. MILLER,  92, of Martins Ferry, Ohio , died Wednesday, December 22, 2010 at East Ohio Regional Hospital. 
She was born in Martins Ferry on November 7, 1918, the daughter of the late Richard and Anna (Crow) Heslop.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edward C. Miller; two brothers, William and Richard Heslop.
She is survived by three nephew, Richard E. Heslop, Columbus, Ohio; Kurt V. Heslop, Martins Ferry; Gregory N. Heslop, Piedmont, Ohio.  
Funeral service was held at the funeral home Tuesday, December 28, 2010 at 11 a.m. with Rev. William O. Webster, Jr. officiating.
Interment followed in Riverview  Cemetery Martins Ferry.


GEORGE J. KURKO,  82, of  Martins Ferry, OH , died Thursday, December 30, 2010 in Ohio Valley Medical Center. 
George was born in Glen Robbins, OH on February 11, 1928,  a son of the late Dennis (John) and Nellie (Chinvanka) Kurko.
He was a retired millwright at the former Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Mill, Yorkville, OH.  George  was a member of the First Christian Church of Martins Ferry.  He served in the U.S. Army.
 In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Jeanne Marie Kurko; two brothers, John and Metro Kurko; one sister, Minnie Ferris.
In addition to his wife, Margaret A. (Horvath) Kurko, he is survived by son, George J. Kurko, Jr., Martins Ferry; four daughters, Ruth Ann Allen, Summersville, SC; Georgia A. Kurko, Martins Ferry; Marjorie K. Jaworski, St. Clairsville, OH; Mary Jo  Kurko, Evanston, IL; six  granddaughters,  Maggie, Anne, Sarah, Emily, Tiffany and Riley.; one great-grandson, Nicholas and one great granddaughter, Zoe. 
Memorial service was held Saturday, January 8, 2011  at 5:30 p.m. at the First Christian Church, 710 So. Zane Highway, Martins Ferry, with Rod Kasler officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Martins Ferry Christian School, 710 So. Zane Highway, Martins Ferry, Ohio 43935.

THOMAS L. BIGGS, 72, of Hanover Street, Martins Ferry, Ohio, died Monday, January 3, 2011 in East Ohio Regional Hospital.
Tom was born in Barton, Ohio on July 12, 1938, a son of the late Louis and Eva (Savage) Biggs.
He is survived by his wife, Linda K. (Moore) Biggs; two sons, Brian Biggs, Warwood, WV and Chris Biggs, St. Clairsville, Ohio; brother, Frederick Biggs; three sisters,  Alice Kempton, Patricia McGary, and Delores Smith.  
Services were held at the convenience of family.

 WALTER S. CHLON, 81, of Concord St. Martins Ferry, Ohio, formerly of Wheeling, died  Wednesday, January 5th, 2011  at his son's residence.
   Walter was born in Wheeling , W. Va. on September 7, 1929,   the son of the late Frank and Pauline (Biega ) Chlon.
   He was a member of the former St. Ladislaus Catholic Church and the Polish American Political Club (P.A.P.), both of Wheeling.
  Walter also served in U.S. Army and was employed by Sylvania  Electric of Wheeling for tweleve years. 
    In  addition to his parents , he was preceded in death by two brothers, Frank Jagaczewski and Chester Chlon.
   He is survived by a  son, Wally (Cindy) Chlon, Martins Ferry; sister, Dorothy Zido, Bridgeport; his former  wife, JoAnn Chlon, Wheeling; and five grandchildren, Anthony ( Ashley) Chlon  , Andrew Chlon, Adam Tychonski, Taylor and Dallas Chlon.
   Services were held at the convenience of the family.
   
WHITNEY L. MIKLAS,  75, of Delia Ave., Martins Ferry, Ohio, died Saturday, February 5, 2011 at Wheeling Hospital, Wheeling, WV.
He was born in Wheeling, WV on October 31, 1935, a son of the late Louis F. and Kathryn E. (Whitney) Miklas.
Whitney was a retired employee of the former Wonder Bakery and also Gast Bakery. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus, both of Martins Ferry.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Harriett E.(Hosso) Miklas;  brother, John Miklas;  sister, Mary Denise Miklas; mother-in-law, Martha Hosso.
He is survived by  two sons, Mark A. (Renee) Miklas, Bowling Green, Ohio; Michael A.  (Renee) Miklas, Martins Ferry, Ohio; five daughters, Michelle M. (Edward) Groves, Wheeling, WV; Melanie M. (Scott) Wensyel, Zanesville, Ohio; Melissa M. Miklas, Columbus, Ohio; Marilyn  M. (James) Stewart, Chesterfield, VA; Maribeth L. Miklas, Columbus, Ohio; grandchildren, Justin and Shaye Wensyel; Devyn (Aaron) Shumaker ; Zane, Emily and Cameron Stewart; Kelly and Kyle Miklas; Kayla Miklas; great granddaughter, Kenna Shumaker; brother, Robert (Becky) Miklas, Martins Ferry, Ohio; sister, Carol (Ernest) Anderson, Martins Ferry, Ohio. 
Funeral Liturgy with Mass was celebrated at St. Mary's Church, Martins Ferry on Monday, February 14, 2011 at 10 a.m. with Father Tom Marut as the celebrant. 
Interment followed in St. Mary's Cemetery, Martins Ferry.

HAROLD E. HOSKINSON, 87, of Nixon Run Road, Martins Ferry, Ohio, passed away peacefully Sunday, February 13, 2011. 
He was born in Altitude, Ohio on October 18, 1923,  a son of the late John E. and Cora J. (Craig) Hoskinson.
He was a retired Conductor for Con-Rail Railroad. He served in the U.S. Army in WW II. 
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, James H. Hoskinson.
He is survived by his wife, Zita Jean (Bonar) Hoskinson; daughter, Janet I. (Richard) Crane, Kents Hill, MA; daughter-in-law, Patricia A. Hoskinson, Wheeling, WV; two grandsons, Matthew (Mary) Crane and Geoffrey (Karen) Hoskinson; two granddaughters, Jennifer (Ricardo) Marquez and Meredith Crane.  
Services were held at the convenience of the family.
Interment was held in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Wheeling, WV. 

JANE J. ZINGO,  91, of Vernon Rd., Martins Ferry, Ohio , died Sunday, February 27, 2011 while in the company of family members  at her residence. 
She was born in Wheeling, W. Va. on September 24, 1919, and was the daughter of the late John and Aniela (Wisnieski) Marchlenski.
She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church Martins Ferry,  and a Member of the Catholic Women's Club and a Choir member which she loved.  Jane was a loving wife, mother, and enjoyed her time with her grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Zingo, Jr.; grandson, Josh Zingo; ten brothers, Pete, Joseph, Harry, Chester, Louis, John, Frank, Edward, Paul and Richard; two sisters Mary Marchlenski and Helen Malatinsky.
She is survived by  four sons, John M. (Catherine) Zingo, Colerain, Ohio; Timonthy R. (Bernice) Zingo, Bellaire, Ohio; David (Mary) Zingo, Cincinnati, Ohio; Jeffrey J. (Sandra) Zingo, Oologah, OK; daughter Paula C. (James) Carenbauer, Wheeling, WV; brother, Stanley Marchlenski, Newark, OH. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, and nine great grandchildren. 
Funeral Liturgy with Mass was celebrated at  St. Mary's Catholic Church, Martins Ferry, Wednesday, March 2, 2011 at 10 a.m. with Rev. Tom Marut as the celebrant.         
Entombment followed at Mount Calvary Cemetery, Wheeling, WV.
Rosary devotions were recited at the funeral home Tuesday, at 3 followed by Wake Service at 7:30 p.m.

WILLIAM  E.  "BUTCH"  STEELE,  72, of Harrison Street, Bellaire, Ohio , died Monday, March 21, 2011 at Belmont Community Hospital. 
He was born in Martins Ferry, Ohio on February 7, 1939,  a son of the late William E. and Laura A. (Bennett) Steele.
He was a retired employee of Maroon Enterprises.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a daughter, Nancy J. Steele; sister, Barbara Winzenreid.
William is survived by his wife, Colletta M. (Linn) Steele;  two sons, Robert E. (Kathleen) Steele, Lisbon, Ohio; Roger A. (Cindy) Steele, Wheeling, WV; two daughters,  Carol A. Steele, Bellaire, Ohio; Crystal  L. Haney, Benwood, WV; brother, Clifford Steele, St. Clairsville, Ohio; two sisters, Vera M. O'Hara, Bridgeport, Ohio; Alberta M. Moore, Martins Ferry. He is also survived by five grandchildren.
At the families request there will be no visitation.


GLORIA JEAN MCFARLAND,  68, of Brownfield Road, Dillonvale, Ohio , died Saturday, March 26, 2011.
Jean was born in Martins Ferry, Ohio on January 27, 1943, a daughter of the late James R. and Matilda T. (Horvath) Ware.
She was a member of Elm Grove Christian Church, Elm Grove, WV. 
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bradley J. McFarland, the love of her life since the 8th grade. 
She is survived by son, Shawn B.(Nancy) McFarland, Colerain, Ohio; daughter, Kimberley R. (Bruce) Clark, Martins Ferry, Ohio ; brother, David (Karen) Ware, Maynard, Ohio; two sisters, Jeri (Doug) Outward, Colerain, Ohio and Colleen (Henry) Lewis, Colerain, Ohio; sister-in-law, Linda McFarland, Florida; grandchildren, Shane, Kylie, Lakyn and Krislyn; and numerous nieces and nephews. 
Funeral service was held at the funeral home Tuesday, March 29, 2011 at 11 a.m. with Pastor Henry Lewis officiating.
Interment followed at Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove, Ohio.

TONY  KOTELLIS,  75, of  Colerain Pike, Martins Ferry, Ohio , died Friday, April 1st, 2011. 
Tony was born in Martins Ferry, Ohio on July 4, 1935, a son of the late Zacharias and Katina (Verenakis) Kotellos.
He was a retired employeeof the former Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel, Mingo Jct Plant. He was a member of  the Greek Orthodox Church Of The Life-Giving Fountain of Martins Ferry. Tony served in the U.S. Army. 
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one brother, John Kotellas.
 He is survived by his wife, Anastasia (Nikolaidou) Kotellis; two daughters,  Kathryn Kotellis and  Anna Zoumpoulidis; two brothers, Mike and Harry Kotellos. Also surviving are six grandchildren. 
Trisagion services was  held Monday at 7 p.m. Funeral service was held Tuesday April 5, 2011 at 11 a.m. at the Greek Orthodox Church Of The Like-Giving Fountain, N. 5th Street, Martins Ferry with Rev. Menelaos Papageorgiou officiating.
Interment followed in Riverview Cemetery, Martins Ferry.


WILLIAM  ARTHUR  MILLER, SR. "BEE", 87, of West Lawn, Colerain, OH died Monday, April 4, 2011 after a brief illness.  He was born July 17, 1923 in Martins Ferry, a son of the late Jesse H. and Thelma (Winland) Miller.  
He was a founding and acting member of St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church of Colerain, Ohio and also attended Our Lady of Perpetual Help Ukrainian Catholic Church of Wheeling, WV.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Charles (Chick) Miller, and five sisters, Louella Shiffman, Maribel Smith, June Harris, Elsie Goff, and Thelma Lutz Bauknecht.  
He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Joan (Sheleva) Miller; eight children:  William A. (Rhoda Ann) Miller, Jr of Chicago, IL; Judi (Robert) Gildow of Bridgeport, OH; Paula Hill of Martins Ferry; Cindy (Gary) Neitzelt of Circleville, OH; John M. (Juli) Miller of Athens, OH; Laurence J. Miller (Mike Unzueta) of San Diego, CA; Thomas P. (Julianne) Miller of Alexandria, VA; and Andrew J. (Julie) Miller of Weyers Cave, VA.  Also surviving are sixteen grandchildren:  Joseph Gildow of Colerain; Natalie Eddy and David Yoder of Mishawaka, IN; Ron Hill of Powell, OH; Britney Van Culin of Dublin, OH; Bethany McFerin of Circleville, OH; William G. Neitzelt of Lancaster, OH; Margot Miller of New York, NY; Johanna S. and Avenelle J. Miller of Athens, OH; Jacob Miller of Guangzhou, China; Simon and Lara Miller of Alexandria, VA; and Riley, Ian, and Trey Miller of Weyers Cave, VA., and four great grandchildren: Erek, Carter, Aubrey and Maddox; brother, Lawrence (Elva) Miller of Spokane, WA;  sister-in-law, Eva (Sheleva) Morrow of Wheeling. 
He was a 39-year employee of the former Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel, Martins Ferry Plant.  Upon his retirement in 1982, he became more involved with the family owned catering business, Miller Catering, of Colerain.  He was a social member of the American Legion of Martins Ferry, where he was well known for being impeccably dressed in suit and tie. Bill enjoyed traveling around the country visiting his children and grandchildren.
Wake service was held at the funeral home by Father Dale Tornes and a Ukrainian service by Father Michael B. Krupka.    A Funeral Liturgy With Mass was held on Saturday, April 9, 2011 at St. Frances Cabrini Catholic  Church, Colerain, OH at 11:00 a.m. with Father Dale Tornes as the celebrant. 
Interment followed at Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove, OH.

JOAN K. BONNELL,  70, of Courtland Avenue, Elm Grove, WV and formerly of Martins Ferry, OH, died Tuesday, April 12, 2011.
She was born in Martins Ferry on November 1, 1940, daughter of the late Alonzo "AL" L. and Gertrude B. (Leach) Kasun.
Joan graduated from M. F. High School, class of 1958.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Edward Kasun.
She is survived by her husband, Donald R. Bonnell; son, Duane A. (Christine) Bonnell, Sweet Water, TN; brother, Donald  L. (Cher) Kasun, Palm Beach, FL; granddaughter, Amber K. (Danny) Bond, Beaver Falls, PA; grandson, Lance B. Bonnell and his Fiancee', Kari Harrington; both of Slidel, LA; great-grandchildren, Caleb, Noah and Zoey. 
Funeral service was held at the funeral home Friday, April 15, 2011 at 1 p.m. with Rev. William O. Webster, Jr. officiating.
Interment followed in Riverview Cemetery, Martins Ferry. 

HAYDEN ALEXA COULTER, 4-Mos, of  Fort Carson, CO died Saturday, April 9, 2011 
She was born in Fort Riley, KS on November 26, 2010,  daughter of  Christopher G. and Amber Lynn (Josson) Coulter of Fort Carson.
She was preceded in death by her great grandparents, Edwin R. and Sally L. (Youst) Perry.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by  sister, Miriya Rae Coulter; paternal grandparents, Michael and Donna (Perry) Coulter; paternal great grandparents, Nelson and Betty Coulter; paternal  great-great grandfather, Clyde "Pop" Mahaffee; maternal grandparents, Paul Josson and Cheryl Antonucci, maternal great grandmother, Carol Josson; uncle, Dale Josson.
Funeral service were held Saturday, April 16, 2011 at 5 p.m. at Grace Presbyterian Church, Cor. 4th and Hanover Sts., Martins Ferry, with Rev. William O. Webster, Jr. officiating.

JOSEPH W. MOORE, 54, of Glenhurst Terrace, Martins Ferry, OH died Monday, April 25, 2011 
He was born in Martins Ferry, OH on January 31, 1957,  a son of the late Samuel and Rhoda M. (Mills) Moore of Martins Ferry.
In addition to his father he was preceded in death by his brother, Samuel Moore.
In addition to his mother he is survived by a daughter, Jessica M. Moore, Wheeling, WV; two sons, Joseph Muldrew, Boca Raton, FL and Joseph W. Moore Jr.;  two brothers, Timothy Moore, Martins Ferry and Randy Moore, Powhatan Pt, OH. He is also survived by six grandchildren. 
Services are private at the convenience of family. 

ROBERT BROOKS VIRTUE,  89, of Glen Robbins, Ohio , died Monday, May 2, 2011 at his residence. 
Red was born in Martins Ferry, Ohio on February 22, 1922,  a son of the late Harold R. and Evelyn (Bromley) Virtue.
He was a retired employee of Ferry Hardware of Martins Ferry. He served in the U.S. Marines during WW II.
Red 's hobbies were working with wood and building muzzleloaders.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one sister, Marylu Bertus.
He is survived by brother, Harold B. Virtue, Wheeling, WV and a close friend, Glenn Balk of Glen Robbins.
Services are private at the convenience of family.


TAMMY J. BROST,  52, of  Ohio Street,  Martins Ferry, Ohio , died Friday, June 17, 2011, in Pittsburgh,  PA. 
She was born in Martins Ferry, OH on May 8, 1959, the daughter of the late  Robert A. and Florence O. (Lollathin) Runner who survives her of Martins Ferry.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by one brother, Donald Runner.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by  daughter, Carrie L. (Scott) Bunting, Zanesville, OH; three brothers,  Robert, Rick and Roger, all of Martins Ferry; three grandsons,  Caden, Cohen and J.T.; two granddaughters,  Keely and Madison. 
        A memorial service was held at the funeral home Thursday, June 23, 2011 at 7 p.m.

JOHN A. WALKER, 61, of  N. 8th Street, Martins Ferry, Ohio , died Wednesday, June 22, 2011.
He was born in Martins Ferry on January 16, 1950,  the son of the late Charles and Anna R. (Alltop) Walker.
He was retired from Ryder Trucking; a U. S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War; veteran of the National Guard; a member of the American Legion and Polish Club, both of Martins Ferry and a member of the VFW of St. Clairsville.
In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by a daughter, Joyce Ann  and two sons, Matthew Edward and Kevin M. Walker.
John is survived by his wife, Patricia A. (Tracey) Walker; two sisters, Sandy L. Brown, Fort Worth, TX and Charlotte Elder of Wheeling, WV; mother-in-law, Peggy Tracey.
        Funeral services were held at the funeral home Saturday, June 25, 2011 at 11 A.M. with Rev. Tom Marut officiating. Interment followed in Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove, OH.
The Belmont Co. Council of the American Legion gave military honors at the funeral home prior to the service on Saturday.

HAZEL  LEONA  SCHWENDER,  80, of Mt. Wood Road, Wheeling, WV, died Sunday, June 26, 2011. 
She was born in Wheeling on August 21, 1930, a daughter of the late Clarence and Hazel M. (Hungerman) LaRue.
Hazel was a retired practical nurse at Ohio Valley Medical Center.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Schwender and a  daughter, Linda White.
She is survived by two sons, Robert (Donna) Riggs, Keller, TX; Gerald (Pat) Riggs, Plano, TX; sister, Emma (Stanley) Kyrc, Elm Grove, WV. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, and numerous great grandchildren. 
Services were held at the convenience of family.


ANNA B KRIEGER, (ANN), 91, of Spence Lane,  Martins Ferry, Ohio, died Tuesday, July 5, 2011. 
Ann was born in Martins Ferry on October 10, 1919, the daughter of the late George and Mary A. (Simon) Tulbure. 
She worked as a secretary, in several businesses in the Martins Ferry area and she was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Martins Ferry.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers: John, George, and Art Tulbure and an infant sister.
Ann is survived by daughter, Barbara A. (William) Quinn, Kent, OH; son, Artie N. Krieger, Cadiz, OH; daughter, Marsha L. Carey, Martins Ferry; granddaughter, Kirsten A. (Steve) Howell, Kent,OH; grandson, Stephen E. (Gina) Quinn, Boca Raton, FL;  granddaughter, Leanna L. (Charles) Taylor, Weirton, WV; great grandson, Jonah E. Howell, Kent, OH; great grandson, Solomon J. Howell, Kent, OH; great granddaughter, Makalia R. Taylor, Weirton, WV; great granddaughter, Ava Y. Taylor, Weirton, WV.
Funeral Liturgy with Mass was celebrated at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Martins Ferry at 10.00 a.m. on Friday, July 8, 2011, with Rev. Tom Marut as the celebrant.
Interment followed in Riverview Cemetery, Martins Ferry. 






 ERNEST  DEBLASIS,  97, of  Elmhurst Ave., Martins Ferry, Ohio , died Wednesday, July 6, 2011.
He was born in Bellaire, Ohio on December 13, 1913, a son of the late Nick and Rose (Nardone) DeBlasis.
He was a retired manager of the Ohio Dept. of Liquor Control of Martins Ferry and Bellaire; formerly owner of Sanitary Meat Market in Bellaire and co-owner, DeBlasis Corner Store of Aetnaville. Ernie was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church,  American Legion and the Knights of Columbus, all of Martins Ferry and the Commodore 4th Degree Jack Barry Assembly 802 of Bellaire. He served in the U.S. Army during WW II.  He received the Good Conduct Metal, American Defense Service Medal, and European African Middle Eastern Service Medal with two Bronze Stars, served 4 1/2 years overseas, decorated with veterans baking unit while in Africa and was with the first unit of American soldiers to land in Ireland in 1942. He also took part in the invasion of Africa... 
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Helen (Gisco) DeBlasis; three brothers and two sisters. 
He is survived by his loving girls Crista Traversa and her children: Mia (born on "Pappys" birthday) and Alivia; his three nephews: Dennis, Rick and David; godsons; Albert, Nick, Tom and John DeBlasis.
Ernie relished the life long bond with his Army brothers "The guys from Ohio". After their discharge they continued with yearly reunions. Their children became his extended family and were touched by his love and generous spirit. This now leaves his "beloved buddie" Jack Paler as the remaining survivor.
Funeral Liturgy with Mass was celebrated Monday, July 11, 2011 at 11 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Martins Ferry, with Rev. Tom Marut as the celebrant.  
Interment followed in Upland Cemetery, Yorkville, Ohio.
Memorial contributions can be made in his honor to the Knights of Columbus or St. Mary's Church,  N. 4th Street, Martins Ferry, Ohio 43935.
The Belmont Co. Council of the American Legion gave military honors at the church prior to the Mass at 11 a.m.




MARY VIRGINIA PATTERSON, 66, of Colerain, Ohio ,died Thursday, July 21, 2011 at her residence.
She was born in Wheeling, WV on June 15, 1945, a daughter of the late Harold and Marie (Chambers) Cunningham.
In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husband, James E. Patterson, Jr.
She is survived by  two sons, James I. (Lori) Patterson, North Port, FL and Jeffrey A. (Monica) Patterson, Goldsboro, NC; two daughters, Jennifer E. (Barbara Nichols) Patterson, Colerain, OH and Jessica A. (Jason Staskey) Patterson, Tiltonsville, OH; sister, Dorothea Thomas, Rayland, OH. She is also survived by six grandchildren, and two great grandchildren.
Funeral service was held at the funeral home Friday, July 29, 2011 at 1 p.m. with Rod Kasler officiating. 
Interment followed in Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove, Ohio



 NANCY JEAN CLEARY, 69, of N. 3rd Street, Martins Ferry, Ohio , died Sunday, July 31, 2011.
Nancy was born in Wheeling, WV on September 5, 1941, a daughter of the late Bert and Helen (Wojtaszek) Volan.
She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Martins Ferry.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Walt Volan; two sisters, Barbara and Mary Alice Volan.
She is survived by her husband, William H. Cleary, Sr.; two sons, William H. Cleary, Jr. and Christopher P. (Lee Ann) Cleary, all of Martins Ferry;  brother, John J. (Jo Ann) Volan, Bridgeport, Ohio.  
A Memorial Mass was held at St. Mary's Church on Thursday, August 4, 2011 at 12 Noon, with Rev. Tom Marut as the celebrant.

JOSEPH T. LAWEECY,  80, of Carlisle Street, Martins Ferry, Ohio , died Tuesday, August 16, 2011. 
He was born in Martins Ferry, Ohio on February 17, 1931, a son of the late Abraham and Ida (Coury) Loweecy.
He was a retired employee for the former Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel, Martins Ferry Plant. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Martins Ferry and a U. S. Air Force Veteran of the Korean War.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Edward and Phillip.
He is survived by  sister-in-law, Katherine Loweecy, St. Clairsville, OH; two nieces, LeeAnn (Glenn) Forsyth, Pittsburgh, PA; Keri Schroeder, Reynoldsburg, OH; nephew, Phillip Loweecy, II, Cincinnati, OH; companion, Julia Courey, Martins Ferry; several great nieces and nephews. 
Private Liturgy with Mass was held at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Martins Ferry.
Entombment followed in Holly Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, Pleasant Grove, OH.

ANTHONY  ZORIC,  96, formerly of Edgewood Club, Wheeling, WV and Martins Ferry, Ohio for several years prior to retiring to Naples, Florida. died Wednesday, August 24, 2011. 
He was born in St. Louis, Missouri on January 10, 1915, a son of the late Joseph and Katherine (Adzia) Zoric.
He was a retired construction worker for Ohio Operating Engineers of Columbus, Ohio. He served in the U.S. Army during WW II. 
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Bessie (Pyles) Zoric; two brothers and four sisters.
       He is survived by son, Joseph (Ginny) Zoric, Bloomingdale, Ohio; daughter, Donna K. (David) Hicks, Martins Ferry, Ohio. He is also survived by three grandsons, three great grandsons, two great granddaughters. 
        Funeral services were held at the funeral home Monday, August 29, 2011 at 10 a.m. with Father Dan Heusel officiating.
Interment  followed at Mount Calvary Cemetery, Wheeling, WV. 
Memorial contributions may be made to donor's choice.
Military honors were given by the Belmont Co. Council of the American Legion prior to the service on Monday.


 DORA M. McANINCH,  96, formerly of Broadway Street, Martins Ferry, Ohio died Tuesday, August 16, 2011. 
She was born in Wheeling, W. Va. on May 26, 1915, the daughter of the late William and Olive (Starkey) Oberfield.
She was a former employee of E.O.R.H. Martins Ferry and the former Stone & Thomas of Wheeling. She was a member of Saint John's Luthern Church of  Martins Ferry.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James O. McAninch; two brothers, Alfred and William, and four sisters, Rose, Alba, Freda and Evelyn
She is survived by son James F. McAninch, Lansing, OH; daughter Rosalie (Thomas) Vetanze Ashby, Wheeling, WV; several nieces and nephews. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, six great-great grandchildren. 
Funeral service was held at the funeral home Friday, August 19, 2011 at 11 a.m. with Pastor Karen Torrez officiating.
Interment  followed in Riverview Cemetery, Martins Ferry.

 ALAN E. LYBARGER,  57, of Walters Ave. Wheeling, WV , died Wednesday, August 31, 2011.
He was born in Findlay, OH on January 3, 1954, a son of the late Arthur and Josephine (Wilson) Lybarger.
Alan had a love of music and played in several bands throughout his life.  He also at one time owned a flower shop, as he loved plants and flowers.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Ronald and two nephews.
He is survived by two sons, Samuel A. and Jackson F. Lybarger and their mother, Jennifer Keller, all of Martins Ferry, OH; two brothers, David Lybarger, Findlay, OH; Scott (Janelle) Lybarger, Whitehouse, TN; and also several nieces and nephews.  
Funeral services were held at the funeral home Saturday September 3, 2011 at noon.



MARY ANN SMITH, age 54, of Concord Street,  Mount Pleasant, OH, died Thursday, September 1., 2011. 
She was born in Wheeling, W. Va. on December 26, 1956, a daughter of the late  Stanley W. and Mary J. (Jenski) Zuboski who survives her of Martins Ferry.
Mary Ann was a member of St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church, Colerain, OH.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by  son, Dustin K Smith, Mt. Pleasant, OH; four brothers:  Michael, Martins Ferry; David (Carol), Shadyside, OH; Douglas (Erin), Shadyside, OH; Stanley "Joe", Martins Ferry; two sisters, Vivian (Steve Pell) Zuboski, Dayton, OH; Marlene Myers, Martins Ferry, OH; two nephews, Joshua (Lauren Brokaw) Butler, Dillonvale, OH; Gordon Zuboski, Shadyside, OH; niece, Whitney Czelusniak, St. Clairsville, OH.  
Rosary was recited Sunday at 7 p.m.

EILEEN M. "SIS" (ROBERTS) MILLER, 91, formerly of Rose Lane, Martins Ferry, OH passed away Monday, September 5, 2011.
She was born in Martins Ferry on January 18, 1920, the daughter of the late Harry F. and Halley I. (Cecil) Roberts
She was a member of First Christian Church of Martins Ferry.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, John M. Miller; one brother, H.E. "Jack" Roberts; Infant twin grand-daughters.
She is survived by sons, H. Jay "Butch" (Lis) Miller, Jan Miller (Carmen Prati-Miller), all of Martins Ferry; granddaughters: Missi Hamilton, Portland, OR; Shayne (John) Bauer, Columbus, OH; Brady (Matt) Prutch, Phoenix, AZ; Casey  (Ken) Golovko, Tustin, CA; great-grandsons, Jacob Dickman and  Miller Golovko; great-granddaughter, Julia Dickman.
        Funeral services were held at the funeral home Friday, September 9, 2011 at 11 a.m. with Terry Erwin, officiating.

 MONSIGNOR  DAVID  E.  REASBECK, a retired priest and a member of the presbyterate of the Diocese of Steubenville, died at Park Health Nursing Home in St. Clairsville on Thursday, October 6, 2011. He was 82 years old.
The body will be waked at Keller Funeral Home, 615 Hanover Street, Martins Ferry, OH on Sunday from 2-4 p.m. and from 6-8 p.m. with a Vigil Service at 7:30 p.m. Then Msgr. Reasbeck will lie in state at St. Mary Church, 20 North Fourth Street, Martins Ferry on Monday from 2-6 p.m. The Funeral Liturgy with Mass was celebrated on Tuesday at St. Mary's Church, Martins Ferry at noon with Monsignor Kurt H. Kemo, Diocesan Administrator as celebrant and Monsignor George R. Coyne as homilist.
Msgr. Reasbeck was born on Sunday, June 16, 1929 in Martins Ferry, Ohio, a son of the late Clarence and Isabell (Baker) Reasbeck. 
He attended St. Gregory and Mount St. Mary Seminaries in Cincinnati and St. Francis Seminary in Loretto, Pa. He was ordained by Bishop John King Mussio on May 26, 1956 at Holy Name Cathedral, Steubenville.
Msgr. Reasbeckás first assignment was as an assistant at St. Joseph Church and instructor at St. Joseph High School, lronton. He also had assignments at St. Peter, Steubenville, Holy Family, Steubenville, St. Stanislaus, Steubenville, Blessed Sacrament, Winters ville, and St. Matthias, Freeport. He served as Pastor of Saints Peter and Paul, Lore City, and St. Frances Cabrini, Colerain from which he retired on June 1, 2007. 
He taught and/or served in administration at the Catholic high schools at St. Joseph, Ironton, Catholic Central, Steubenville, Seton Central, Lafferty, and Guernsey Catholic Central, Cambridge. He served over the years on various diocesan commissions, including the Silver Jubilee Committee, Diocesan Consultor, Assistant Master of Ceremonies, Diocesan Liturgical Commission, Art and Environment Committee, and the Diocesan Building Commission. He served as Dean of Presentation Deanery and was chaplain to the Knights of Columbus councils in Cambridge and Martins Ferry, as well as the Father Prior to the Columbian Squires in Ironton.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four sisters, Lucille Harris, Ang Marling, Stella Ashton and Ginny Werner; brother, Russell Reasbeck.
He is survived by two sisters, Sister David Claire Reasbeck, Louisville, Ky. and Doris J. Burger, Martins Ferry, Ohio; numerous nieces and nephews survive him.

As we entrust our brother David to the loving care of our Heavenly Father we remember the words of sacred scripture,"If we die with Christ, we shall live with Him (2Tm.2:11)."  May he rest in eternal peace.


ELIZABETH M. "BETTY' MATYSIAK,  87, of  Martins Ferry, Ohio, died Sunday, October 30, 2011. 
She was born in Wheeling, WV on October 30, 1924, the daughter of the late Walter and Kathryn (Blok) Minder.
She was a retired employee for the former C & P Telephone Co. of Wheeling. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and the Polish National Alliance Lodge # 1220, both of Martins Ferry and also the Wheeling High School Alumni Association..
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years,  Frank "Scotty" Matysiak;  sister, Margaret (Peggy) Davis; brother, Jim Minder.
She is survived by two sons, John and his wife, Roxanne Matysiak, Steubenville, Ohio and James Matysiak, Martins Ferry; daughter, Carol Grady, Sewickley, Pa.; grandson, Karl Matysiak, Steubenville, Ohio; several nieces and nephews and a special friend and caregiver, Darla Clark.

MARY E. KELLER, 75, of Concord Street, Martins Ferry, Ohio, died Saturday, December 10, 2011, in Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh, Pa.
She was born in Wheeling, WV on October 30, 1936, a daughter of the late Joseph and Clara B. (Freeze) Renshaw.
She was a retired teacher's aide for Belmont Co. Head Start, Martins Ferry.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John C. Keller.
She is survived by son, John J . (Kimberly) Keller, Piedmont,OH; daughter, Ellen M. (Todd) Blake, Martins Ferry; daughter, Christine L. (Ronald) Angerer, Massillon, OH; daughter, Becky  A. (Chris) Jenkins, Dublin, OH; daughter, Katherine R. (Vince) West, Martins Ferry; daughter, Sandy L. Keller, Martins Ferry; son, Joseph A. (Jessica) Keller, Martins Ferry; sister, Olive Groskopf, Wheeling, WV; brother, Joseph Renshaw, North Carolina. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren. 
       Funeral services were held at the funeral home on Wednesday, December 14, 2011 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Tom Marut officiating.

MARGARET  A.  BLOTZER,  93, of Hughes Ave., Martins Ferry, Ohio , died  Tuesday, December 13, 2011. 
She was born in Corning, Ohio on July 11, 1918,   the daughter of the late Andy and Julia (Sipos) Almashy.
She was a retired secretary at the former Valley Machine of Martins Ferry and Blue Cross and Blue Shield. She was a member of the1st Presbyterian Church of Martins Ferry.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harry A. Blotzer; four brothers, Andrew, James, John  and William Almashy; sister, Elizabeth Ruble; niece, Karen Lewis and a nephew, Bruce Ruble. 
Margared is survived by  two nephews, Brian Almashy, Las Vegas, Nev. and William Almashy, Dayton, Oh.; two nieces, Nancy Verplank, DeMotte, Ind. and Carol Almashy, Chicago, Ill.; great nephew, Chad (Tonya) Ruble, Martins Ferry; great-great nephew, Maddox Ruble; two great-great nieces, Brooklynn and Sunnie Ruble.
Graveside service was held at Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove.

ELLEN LOUISE CHAMBERS, 87, of Center Street, Martins Ferry, Ohio died Wednesday,  January 4, 2012 in East Ohio Regional Hospital. 
She was born in Shadyside, Ohio on Tuesday, March 25, 1924,  the daughter of the late Herman and Fannie Hall.
She was a member of the First Christian Church and the Loyal Daughters Bible Class of Martins Ferry. 
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Karl H. "Bud" Chambers;  son, Jeffrey K. Chambers, grandson, Craig L. Chambers. 
Louise is survived by  son, Craig (Linda) Chambers, San Francisco, CA; granddaughter Traci Vasquez; grandson, Shane Chambers; great grandson Jake; two great-granddaughters, Clarissa and Jasmin.  
Funeral services were held at the funeral home Wednesday, January 11, 2012 at Noon with Rod Kasler officiating.
Interment followed at Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove, Ohio. 


HENRY O. WHITECOTTON, JR., "HANK",  83, of Emerson Road, Pleasant Grove, OH , died Wednesday, January 11, 2012 at East Ohio Regional Hospital. Martins Ferry, OH. 
He was born in Wheeling, WV on Tuesday, December 18, 1928, son of the late Henry O. and Bessie (Crisswell) Whitecotton.
He was a retired upholsterer in Pleasant Grove and a  Martins Ferry School District Bus Driver.for 22 years. He served in the U.S. Air Force. He was a member of Colerain Presbyterian Church and a Deacon of the church in Colerain, OH. 
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, George Whitecotton.
Hank is survived by his wife, Martha Jane (McElroy) Whitecotton; daughter, Shawn P. (D. J.) Rausch, Ashland, OH; grandson, Glenn Rausch and granddaughter, Daisy Rausch. 
       Funeral services were held at the funeral home at 2 p.m. Sunday, January 15,  2012 with Pastor, Joe Ellis and Rev. Byron McElroy officiating. 
Interment was held in Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove, OH.

JOHN  KISS, 81, of Columbus Ave., Martins Ferry, Ohio , passed away Sunday, January 22, 2012 at Wheeling Hospital, Wheeling, WV with his family at his side, after a bout with cancer.
John was born in Martins Ferry, Ohio on November 13, 1930, son of the late John and Elizabeth (Oravecz) Kiss.
He was a retired motor inspector at Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel, for 30 years. He was currently employed by McKeen security. John also served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict and he was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of Martins Ferry.
He is survived by his wife, Elaine (Bevan) Kiss; son, John (Jeannette) Kiss, Glenford, OH ; daughter, Jane L. Straughn, Wheeling; daughter, Carol L. (Van) Donahue, St. Clairsville; son, Carl L. Kiss, Columbus, OH. John is also survived by six grandchildren; John "Cec" (Arielle), Jason Carl, Jaren, Carl Jr. (CJ), Samantha (Sami), Jeremy. Two great grandchildren;  Skyler Grace and Danica Lynne and four brothers and five sisters.
Funeral Liturgy with Mass was held Wednesday, January 25, 2012 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Martins Ferry at 11 a.m.    
        Entombment  followed in St. Mary's Cemetery, Martins Ferry.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Red Cross, 213 Natiional Road, Tridelphia, WV.


HELEN LOUISE DALLY,  98, formerly of Ingram PA died Thursday, January 26, 2012. 
She was born in Greensburg, PA on Sunday, May 25, 1913, daughter of the late Ignatz and Anna (Brendzovitch) Yaczola.
Helen was a retired employee of Joseph Horne's Co. of Pittsburgh, PA..
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a daughter, Maryanna Snezek; four sisters, Anna, Sophia, Mary and Stella ;  brother, Steve; great-grandson, Robert Brayer III.
She is survived by sister, Margaret Weber; son-in-law Chester J. Snezek; three granddaughter, Louann A. (Scott) Tedrick; Dyann N. (Mike) Loudermilk; Bethann F. (Robert) Brayer; four great-grandsons, Bryan, Tyler, Joe and Liam; great-granddaughter, Lena. 
        Funeral Liturgy with Mass was celebrated at St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church, Colerain, OH at 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 28, 2012 with Father Dale Tornes as the celebrant.
Interment followed in Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove, OH. 

JACQUELINE  NIEB, "JACKIE" 71, of Spence Lane,  Martins Ferry, Ohio, died Monday, February 20, 2012 at her residence. 
She was born in Monessen, PA on June 12, 1940,  daughter of the late Jack and Virginia Cullen.
Jackie was a retired cashier at Wal-Mart, St. Clairsville, Ohio. She served in the U.S. Army. 
She is survived by her husband, Wayne Nieb; three sons, Michael (Deanne) Sall; Wayne Sall; Jimmy (Jacqui) Sall; daughter, Patti J. (Gary) Ball, all of Martins Ferry; brother,  George Cullen; sister, Alma DeGrino. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, and six great grandchildren. 
Funeral service was held at the funeral home Thursday, February 23, 2012 at noon with Chaplain, Ron Morgan officiating.
Interment followed in Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove, Ohio. 
Military honors were given by the Belmont Co. Council of the American Legion following the service at noon.

RUTH LOUISE SIX,  62, of Union Street, Martins Ferry, OH and formerly of Weirton, WV. died Saturday, March 3, 2012. 
Ruth was born in Wheeling, WV on September 19, 1949, daughter of the late Harley and Betty (Roberts) Rienhart.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Six.
She is survived by  son,  Larry (Terri) Romono, Moundsville, WV; daughter, Rosemarie (Michael) Jenkins, Weirton, WV. two grandsons, Devon and Elisha; five granddaughters, Danyelle, Loren, Mary Beth, Paytchra and MaKayla; two great -grandchildren,  Baileigh and Zoriah; close friend,  Jack Reynolds.  
Memorial service was held at the First Christian Church, 3252 Main Street, Weirton, WV at 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 24, 2012 with Rev. Kevin Bowers officiating. 



DOROTHY M. CUNNINGHAM, 82, of Grant Ave., Martins Ferry, OH, died Monday, March 5, 2012.
She was born in Bellaire, OH on December 5, 1929, daughter of the late Burt S. and Telka (Wenzel) Shaw.
She was a member of First Christian Church, of Martins Ferry.
In addition to her parents Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Ray E. Cunningham; two sons, Peter Allen and Jeffrey Scott Cunningham; brother, Phillip Shaw; sister, Marie Woollard.
Dorothy is survived by a daughter, Carol L. Cunningham, Belmont, MA.; son, Ray E. (Madaline) Cunningham, Jr., Martins Ferry; brother, George D. Shaw, Springfield, OH. She is also survived by four grandchildren, eight great- grandchildren, one great-great grandchild. 
Memorial service was held at the First Christian Church, So. Zane Highway, Martins Ferry on Friday, March 9, 2012 at 1 p.m.  with Rod Kasler officiating. 
Interment in Weeks Cemetery, Bridgeport, OH.

JEANETTE  WEIGAND,  85, of Colerain Pike, Martins Ferry, Ohio , died Sunday, January 29, 2012, 
She was born in Martins Ferry, Ohio on Saturday, December 4, 1926,  she was the daughter of the late Harry and Ora (Seachrist) Semple.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Robert, Raymond, Charles and George Semple; four sisters, Evelyn Semple, Lucille Maguire, Irene Fulton Marsh and Eleanor Neralic.
Jeanette is survived by her husband, Donald H. Weigand; son, John A. (Sue) Weigand;  grandson, Ian E. Weigand; granddaughter, Nicole D. (David) Dawson, all of Martins Ferry; two sister-in-laws,  Opal  Semple and Ruth Dawson.  
Funeral services were held at the funeral home Friday, February 3, 2012 at 11 a.m. with Brad Johnston officiating.
Interment followed in Riverview  Cemetery Martins Ferry. 

 
AGNES M. PRAMIK,  91, formerly of N. 6th Street, Martins Ferry, OH died Wednesday, April 4, 2012 at Woodbine, MD 
She was born in Deep Run, Ohio on December 8, 1920, the daughter of the late Frank and Mary Elizabeth (Holland) Federman.
She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Martins Ferry. Agnes was a retired cashier for the former Super X  also of Martins Ferry.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Pramik; sister, Helen Degner: two brothers, Frank and John Federman.
Agnes is survived by  three sons, Kenneth (Betty) Pramik, Clarksville, MD; Jeffrey (Janice) Pramik, Parker, CO; Franklin (Sheila) Pramik, Monument, CO; daughter, Marsha (Dale) Deaton, Woodbine, Md. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, and eleven great grandchildren. 
Funeral service was held at the funeral home Saturday, April 7, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Tom Marut officiating.
Interment followed in Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove, OH. 

 JOE  T.  "FATTY" JOSEPH,  93, of Adams Street, Martins Ferry, Ohio , died Thursday, April 5, 2012.
 He was born in New Kensington, Pa. on September 15, 1918, son of the late Tony and Katherine (Charley) Joseph
 He was a 1937 graduate of Martins Ferry High School where he was a standout athlete. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII. Fatty and his wife, Ethel ran Joseph's Bar and Restaurant in Martins Ferry from 1960-1976. Fatty then worked for Don Myers for the city of Martins Ferry. Fatty was also a Democratic Central Committee member for many years. Fatty will be deeply missed by many.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by four brothers, Earl, Edmund, Albert & Eugene Joseph; sister, Fify Joseph.
He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Ethel M. (Nagy) Joseph; two sons, Kenneth E. Joseph, Martins Ferry, OH and David L. Joseph, Steubenville, OH; granddaughter, Pria Lynn (Michael) Myers, St. Clairsville, OH; great grandson, Mason 6 years old; great granddaughter, Shelby  11 years old; two brothers, Robert Joseph, Columbus, OH and Thomas Joseph, Ft. Myers, Fl; sister, Helen Joseph, Martins Ferry. 
Funeral service was held at the funeral home Tuesday, April 10, 2012 at 10 a.m. with Rev. Tom Marut officiating.
Mausoleum entombment  followed in St. Mary's Cemetery Mausoleum, Martins Ferry. 


JOHN P. NAGEL, 76, of  East Road, Dix Addition Martins Ferry, Ohio , died Tuesday, April 17, 2012. 
He was born in Martins Ferry, Ohio on March 4, 1936, a son of the late Paul P. and Margaret O. (Morton) Nagel.
He was a retired foreman for Nickles Bakery, former bus driver for Martins Ferry School System and a former courier for Citizens Bank, all of Martins Ferry.  John was a member and past assistant chief of the Colerain VFD, past president of the Colerain Ruritan Club and a social member of the Colerain VFW.
John is survived by his wife of 55 years, Alice J. (Shrodes) Nagel; two sons, John R. Nagel, Martins Ferry and Michael A. (Lisa) Nagel of North Carolina; daughter, Vicki L. Goonen of Florida; four grandsons, Jon, Josh, Jesse and Christopher Nagel; granddaughter, Chelsea Goonen; two brothers, Robert (Sharon) Nagel and William (Nancy) Nagel; sister, Caroline Strauss; several nieces and nephews.  
Funeral service was held Friday, April 20, 2012 at the funeral home at 1 p.m., with Rev. William O. Webster, Jr. officiating.
Mausoleum Entombment followed in Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove, Ohio.

CHARLES "CHUCK" A. RIELL, 57, of Martins Ferry, Ohio, died Friday, April 20, 2012. 
Chuck was born in Martins Ferry, Ohio on July 5, 1954, son of the late Charles S. and Kathleen  M. (Simmons) Riell.
He was employed as a security guard at the Mitchell Power Plant, Moundsville, WV. He was also a former employee of Wheeling Downs. He was a member of St Paul's Episcopal Church, Martins Ferry. He was an avid Steelers Fan.
He is survived by  two sisters, Lis A. (Butch) Miller, Martins Ferry and Dee J. (Robert) Higgs of Bridgeport, OH; his feline companion, Willy. 
Funeral service was held at the funeral home Wednesday, April 25, 2012 at 11 a.m. with Rev. John Brandenburg officiating.
Interment followed at Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove, Ohio.

 DANIEL RAY FARMER, 76, of Crawford Street, Martins Ferry, Ohio , died Wednesday, April 25, 2012.
Services were at the convenience of the family.

KATHY LYNN GILLESPIE, 48, of of West Jefferson Street, Martins Ferry, OH and formerly of Morgantown, WV died Thursday, April 26, 2012. 
Kathy was born in Morgantown on March 15, 1964, daughter of  Shirley Ann (Dailey) Dalton of Morgantown.
Her maternal grandparent, Thomas and Carrie Dailey of Morgantown, five uncles and two aunts preceded her in death.
In addition to her mother she is survived by son, Branden M. Gillespie, who was the light of her life of Martins Ferry; sister, Janet Williamson, Mt. Morris, PA; two nephews, Travis and Andrew Williamson, Mt. Morris; her extended family, Bill, Christie, Jimmy and Samantha Hans of Martins Ferry.
Funeral service was held Monday April 30, 2012 at noon, with Pastor Fred Tomilson officiating. Interment followed in Riverview Cemetery, Martins Ferry. 

JOSEPH EDWARD BENCUR, JR., 64, of N. 7th Street Martins Ferry, OH, died Monday, April 30, 2012 at Ohio State Medical Center East, Columbus, OH. 
Joe was born in Martins Ferry, OH on February 9, 1948, the son of the late Joseph E. and Cassilda M. (Kowalski) Bencur.
Joe graduated from Martins Ferry High School in 1966 and furthered his education at Ohio University, Athens, OH and received a degree in mathematics.
He was a retired Director of Development for the City of Martins Ferry for 20 years. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, a committee member  of the Hall Of Honor and a member of the P.N.A. Club all of Martins Ferry.
Joe loved to travel and root for his Dallas Cowboys.
He is survived by  first  cousins: Joseph (Mary Kathleen) Bellia, Pittsburgh, PA; Marlene Bellia Sovinski, W. Palm Beach, FL; Phillip (Linda) Kowalski, Wheeling, WV; Mary Ann Kowalski, St. Clairsville, OH; Janet Kowalski, Florida; Joe Koval, Charleston, SC; aunt, Emily Kowalski, Cleveland, OH. 
Joe also leaves behind several close friends and close former co-workers. He often remarked on how thankful he was to his caring doctors, nurses, and their support staff. 
Friends will be received at the funeral home Thursday 1:45 to 7 p.m. Wake service will be held at 1:45 followed by Rosary at 3 p.m.
Funeral Liturgy with Mass was celebrated at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Martins Ferry at 10 a.m. on Friday, May 4,  2012 with Rev.  Tom Marut as the celebrant. 
Interment followed in St. Mary's Cemetery Martins Ferry.

ROBERT JOSEPH MILLS, SR.,  71, of Garrett Hill Road, Glencoe, OH and formerly of Martins  Ferry, OH  died Wednesday, May 2, 2012. 
Bob was born in Martins Ferry, OH on August 25, 1940, the son of the late Harry and Laura Elizabeth (Ebright) Mills.
He was a retired cast foreman for Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel, Mingo Jct Plant. He was a honorary member of the Martins Ferry Fire Department, Liberty Station..
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Vicky Truax.
Bob is survived by his wife, Marian L. (Costa) Mills; four sons: Robert J. (Becky) Mills, Jr., Belmont, OH; Mark A. (Kim) Mills, Ashville, OH; John E. Gargala, Michigan; Jason L. Gargala, Michigan; daughter, Melissa M. Mills, St. Clairsville, OH; sister, Alice M. Nixon, Round Lake, ILL. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
