CARL A. STABILE, 83, of Martins Ferry, OH passed away Saturday, February 11th, 2017 while in the company of family members.
Carl was born in Martins Ferry on July 17, 1933 he was the son of the late Carl A. Stabile and Mary (Falcone) Stabile Brown.
Carl was a former Independent Insurance Agent and Assistant State Manager for Kemper Insurance for the State of Ohio
He was a lifelong honorary member and captain of the Martins Ferry Fire Department serving the Alert Engine Co. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and member of the American Legion Post 38. He belonged to the Martins Ferry Elks and one of the five members of the MF Jaycees who founded the SPARKY trophy. He initiated the construction for the Hillendale Ball Field which is now named in his honor. He started the Elks Junior League bowling and was an avid fisherman, golfer and bowler. He had a passion for Piedmont Lake, his cabin and anonymously helping people in the community.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, William Brown and a sister, Betty Brown Taylor.
In addition to his wife, Barbara June (Kirkpatrick) Stabile, he is survived by two daughters, Rhonda Sue (Nick) Bernardo, Joyce Ann Stewart (David Snyder); two granddaughters, Jamie Lyn Stewart, Gina Nicole Bernardo, all of Martins Ferry; sister, Caroline Chehula, Cleveland, OH; brother-in-law, Jeff (Cheri) Kirkpatrick, Rome, GA; several nieces and nephews.
Proclamation from the city was read at 7 p.m. followed by the Martins Ferry Fireman at 7:15, Ohio River Valley #231 Elks Lodge at 7:30.
Funeral service was held at the funeral home Wednesday, February 15, 2017 at 1 p.m. with Pastor Tina Siroki officiating.
Interment followed in Riverview Cemetery, Martins Ferry.
Military honors were given Wednesday prior to the service.

RUTH GAYLE SPEIDEL, age 91, of Selby Apt., Martins Ferry, OH , died Monday, February 13th, 2017.
Ruth was born in Beaver, PA on January 19, 1926, the daughter of the late George Albert and Sadie (McCullough) Miller.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Frank B. Speidel, Jr. and a brother, James L. Miller.
She is survived by a nephew, Allen Z. Miller and his wife, Patricia E. Winterhalter of Williamsburg, VA.
A memorial service was held at the funeral home on Friday, February 24, 2017 at 11 a.m. with Rev. William O. Webster, Jr. officiating.
Interment followed in Riverview Cemetery, Martins Ferry.

ALFRED K. SWEARINGEN, "BUNNY" 84, of Martins Ferry, OH , passed away peacefully Tuesday, February 28th, 2017 at his residence.
He was born in Martins Ferry, OH on June 7, 1932, a son of the late Alfred Kenneth "Greek" and Mary Ellen (Hoffman) Swearingen.
He was a retired employee at Ohio Power Brilliant, OH. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Martins Ferry.
Bunny's greatest joy was spending time with his family especially on holidays and Sunday watching football. His grandchildren were the light of his life.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara A. (Beltz) Swearingen, whom he married June 20, 1953; sister, Dorothy Dugan; brother, Edgar Swearingen and nephew, Edgar Swearingen, Jr.

DOLORES JEAN DEFEDE, 88, of Yorkville, OH, passed away Wednesday, March 15th, 2017 while in the company of family members.
She was born in Martins Ferry, OH on July 29, 1928, the daughter of the late Albert and Josephine (Brehm) Dorsey.
Dolores was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of Martins Ferry.
In addition to her parents and her husband, Samuel Lewis DeFede she was preceded in death by six brothers, Arthur, Raymond, Laurence, William, Elmer and Harry and a granddaughter, Samantha Leskovic.
She is survived by two sons, Mark S. DeFede, Butler, PA; Chad C. DeFede and his companion, Regina, St. Clairsville, OH; daughter, Dana J. (Neal) Leskovic, Butler, PA; sister, Joan M. DOROTHY JUDAWN JEFFERS, 92, of Bridgeport, Ohio , passed away Saturday, April 1st, 2017.
She was born in Roxboro, NC on April 18, 1924, a daughter of the late Percy and Pearl (Bumpus) Womack.
She was a member of Bethlehem Apostolic Temple of Wheeling, WV.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Curtis Jeffers; four sisters, Annie Ester Connally, Lillie
Williams, Gladys Black and Nannie McGhee.
She is survived by four daughters, Daisy (Andrew) Jones, Semora, NC; Dorothy (Charles) Williams, Bridgeport, OH; Percilla
(Richard) Speights, Bridgeport, OH; Lillie (Eugene) Gummer, Bridgeport, OH; two sons, Joseph (Gerri) Womack, Rockymount, NC;

ETHEL M. GIVENS, age 74, of Arkansas and formerly of Mount Vernon, OH, passed away Friday, April 14th, 2017.
She was born in Flushing, OH on July 22, 1942, a daughter of the late Bernard and Wilomena (Sommer) Roberts.
In addition to her parents and her husband, Wayne Givens she was preceded in death by a grandson.
She is survived by son, Richard (Teresa) Givens, Pontiac, MI; daughter, Linda (Terry) Grospitch, Berea, OH; daughter, Cynthia (Jimmy) Rutherford, Marmaduke, AR; daughter, Sheila (John) Davis, McMechen, WV and a sister, Sara Damron, Marietta, OH. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren.
Graveside service was held at Rock Hill Cemetery, 64840 Patterson Hill Road, Bellaire, OH on Friday, April 21, 2017 at 11 a.m. with Pastor Mitch Johnston officiating.

LORETTA FRANCIS PATTERSON, age 60, of Laslo Apts, Martins Ferry, OH , passed away Tuesday, April 25th, 2017 at her residence.
She was born in Wheeling, WV on September 3, 1956, a daughter of the late Marian Ann (Criss) Ennis and Tony Perricellia who survives her of FL.
In addition to her father, she is survived by daughter, Kaquitta E. (Herbert) Carter, Willowwick, OH; sister, Beth Nolte, Martins Ferry, OH. She is also survived by six grandchildren.

BETTY JEAN HAMM,92, formerly of Martins Ferry, OH died Wednesday, April 5th, 2017.
She was born in Martins Ferry on September 9, 1924, the daughter of the late Michael W. and Anna Augusta (Hicks) Letzelter.
She was a retired Human Resource Manager at Swisher International of Wheeling, WV. She was a lifetime member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of Martins Ferry; former member of the Personnel Club of the Upper Ohio Valley, a member of the Swisher International Quarter Century Club and a former member of the Ivy Twig of EORH.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas F. Hamm, Sr.; three brothers, Col. Cyril J., Michael B. and Richard T. Letzelter

She was born in Bellaire, OH on January 10, 1921, daughter of the late Chalmer and Edna (Gatten) Hendershot.
She was a retired Nurse's Aide at EORH Martins Ferry, OH. She was a member of St. Joe Church of Christ, Bellaire, OH.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant son, David Lee; three sisters, Leona, Mabel and Olive: brother, Charles.
She is survived by her husband, David Lee Koonce; daughter, Debbie J. (Norman) Dennis, Bellaire, OH; sister, Mary Bass, St. Clairsville, OH; grandson, Jason Dennis, Wellington, OH; granddaughter, Heather Bruce, Jacobsburg, OH; three great-grandsons, Kolin, Kaiden and Mason; great-granddaughter, Alivia.

FLORAJEAN MARIE (BLUM) SOULT, 88, of Martins Ferry, OH , passed away Tuesday, June 6th, 2017 while in the company of family members.
She was born in Wheeling, WV on January 15, 1929, the daughter of the late Herman Carl and Anna Julia (Wodarczyk) Blum.
Florajean was a retired Librarian at Ohio University Eastern, where she worked for 32 years. She was a long time member of Saint John's Lutheran Church, Martins Ferry. She was an avid camper, cruiser, bridge player, quilter, a member of the Big Band 200 Dance Club, and a 1947 graduate of Martins Ferry High School.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a brother, Elmer Blum and a sister, Betty Spence.
She is survived by her husband, John E. Soult; three daughters, Su Saunders, Harpers Ferry, WV; Salli Nelson, Columbus, OH; Barb Soult, of the home; sister, Lois Baker, Martins Ferry; granddaughter, Ame Dietz, Martins Ferry; grandson, K. Robert Nelson, Florida; granddaughter, Anna (Tommy) Anglin, Florida; four great-grandchildren, Leian Riggs, Tara Dietz, Isaiah Dietz, all of Martins Ferry and John David Nelson of Florida.

He was born in Dover, OH on March 11, 1930, a son of the late John and Emma (Berger) Koonce.
He was employed by the former John Wensel Meat Packing Co. of Wheeling, WV.; a member of St. Joe, Church of Christ Bellaire, OH; Lifetime member of the D.A.V of Bellaire, OH.; member of the American Legion and the former Eagles Lodge both of Martins Ferry; past member of the Neffs Fire Department. He served in the U.S. Army in the Korean War.
In addition to his parents and his wife, Dorothy Lee (Hendershot) Koonce who passed away May 27, 2017, he was preceded in death by a son, David Lee Koonce; one brother Donald Koonce; and three sisters, Marjorie Givens, Mary Jane Rankin and Doris Weisie.

Adele was born in Martins Ferry, OH on December 12, 1927, the daughter of the late Thomas and Audry (Tiderick) Burdess.
She was a bookkeeper at the former LaBelle Box Factory; a member of the First Presbyterian Church and a member of the Ivy Twig all of Martins Ferry.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Herman Johnson.

JOSEPH STEWART DUNBAR, 78, of Martins Ferry, Ohio died Friday, August 4, 2017 at his home surrounded by family
He was born on March 11, 1939 in Wheeling, West Virginia, the eldest son of Joseph and Helen (McKee) Dunbar. Upon graduation from Martins Ferry High School Joseph enlisted and became a decorated member of the United States Marine Corps. Upon his honorable discharge from the Marines, Joseph studied and received his degree from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio and subsequently his master's degree from American University. After graduation Joseph returned to Martins Ferry and became an active member of the business and civic community as the Director of the Neighborhood Development Corporation and served on Martins Ferry City Council. Joseph left public service and founded and successfully operated the Joseph S. Dunbar Real Estate Broker firm for over 30years until his retirement. He also served as the President of the Belmont County Board of Realtors and as an appraiser for Belmont County. Joseph was a life-long member in the First Presbyterian Church in Martins Ferry including as an elder of Session.
He was survived by his loving wife, Susan A. Tolbert; daughter, JoAnna S. McWilliams (James); grandchildren Madeline Grace and Andrew James McWilliams of Powell, Ohio.
Funeral service was held on August 9, 2017 at 11 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in MartinsFerry at 400 Walnut Street with Rev. David Stammerjohn officiating. Burial follows in St. Mary's Cemetery Martins Ferry.

DONALD N. REESE, 84, lifetime residence of Martins Ferry, OH died Sunday, August 20, 2017 at Mt. Carmel East Hospital, Columbus, OH., surrounded by his loving family.
He was born in Martins Ferry on September 24, 1932, to the late Thomas and Clara (Stanton) Reese.
He was a retired employee at Ohio Valley Dairy and the Citizens Bank of Martins Ferry. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church; the former VFW Post 3613 and the Improved Order of Redmen, all of Martins Ferry. He served in the U.S. Army in the Korean War. In his retirement he earned an associate degree at Belmont Technical College.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Reese and a sister, Mary Eleanor Eoff.
He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Mildred (DeFede) Reese; daughter, Melinda R. (James) Heitker, Westerville, OH; son, Donald J. (Janie) Reese, Granger, IN. He was the proud grandfather of Kathleen G. (John) Sheridan; Sarah M. (John) Matthews; Joseph R. Heitker; Thomas J. Heitker, M.D.; Alexandria (Benjamin) Calacci; Samantha V. Reese; and great-grandfather to Madeline R. Sheridan; John P. Sheridan, III; Molly R. Matthews; Michael W. Matthews; Mitchell J. Matthews.

NICHOLAS DANUAL JONES, "NICK", 49, of Mt Pleasant Pike, Martins Ferry, OH, died Thursday, September 14th, 2017.
Nick was born in Denver, CO on December 6, 1967, a son of the late Terry and Frances (Trapanni) Augenstein who survives him of Martins Ferry, OH.
He worked as a painter for the International Painters Union.

Elsie Edna Woods, 91, of Bridgeport, OH, passed away on Sunday, September 24th, 2017.
She was born on March 3, 1926, at home in Pease Twp, Belmont Co., the daughter of the late Clarence and Ethel (Sutton) Woods.
Elsie was a retired employee of the former Marx Toy Factory.
As per her request there will be no visitation. Interment will be held in Week's Cemetery at the convenience of the family.

Beverly was born in Wheeling, WV on May 17, 1953, a daughter of the late John Maximilian and Clara Anna (Zeyer) Biscan.
She was a former Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer at Progressive Bank Wheeling, WV.
Beverly was a devout Catholic by faith who read scripture daily. She enjoyed listening to music and spending time outdoors.
She had an optimistic outlook on life. She was extremely generous and provided help to anyone with open-arms. Beverly touched many lives with her guidance and warm-hearted spirit.
She is survived by her beloved sister, Janice Biscan-Banks; niece and goddaughter, Beverly Cathleen Banks, both of Wheeling; Joseph H. Barker, III, St. Clairsville, OH.

Pinky was born in Martins Ferry, OH on May 20, 1949, the daughter of the late Raymond Boyd and Betty Lee (Phillips) Rutan.
She was a member of the Martins Ferry American Legion Post # 38, Women's Auxiliary.

Les was born in Martins Ferry, OH on February 18, 1931, the son of the late Jess and Helen (Ward) Douglas.
He was a retired teacher and guidance counselor at Martins Ferry High School. Leslie was a former mayor and president of city council of Martins Ferry. He also initiated the Hall Of Honor of M. F. Les was a member of the Ohio River Valley Elks Lodge, Past Exalted Rulers Association, American Legion, Ohio City Lodge #486, Honorary member of the Vigilant Fire Dept., Rotary Club all of Martins Ferry. He was also a member of the former V.F.W. and the Redman’s Lodge.
He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one sister, Florence Richards.
He is survived by his wife, Betty (Briggs) Douglas; three sons, Charles I. (Laura) Douglas and Richard L. Douglas both of Martins Ferry, James W. (Gena) Douglas, Georgetown,KY; daughter, Kathryn L. (Alvin) Reed, Bridgeport, OH. He is also survived by six grandchildren, and three great grandchildren.
Funeral service was held at the funeral home Thursday, November 16, 2017 at 1 p.m. with Rev. James A. Monogioudis officiating.
The M. F. Fire Department will hold services Wednesday at 6:30 followed by the Elks at 7 p.m.
The Belmont Co. Veterans Association will give military honors at Holly Memorial Gardens.

He was born in Martins Ferry on April 27, 1936, the son of the late Donald Charles and Roberta (Atkinson) Bishop.
He was a retired sales representative at Plenums Inc. and owner of the former Bayside Air Conditioning both of Florida and secretary of the former Stanton Heater of Martins Ferry.
He was a member and a trustee of the First United Methodist Church of Martins Ferry; member of Ohio City Lodge #486, Scottish Rite of Steubenville; Board of Directors of Martins Ferry High School Alumni Association.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant daughter on February 16, 1966.
In addition to his wife, Sharon Gay Atwood Bishop, he is survived by two sons, Charles L. Bishop, Largo, FL; Christopher A. (Tina) Bishop, Muncie, IN; two grandsons, Tyler L. Bishop and Nathan A. Bishop both of Muncie, IN; sister, Barbara A. (Darrell) Driver, Columbus, OH.

He was a retired owner of Jacob & Sons Quality Meats for 52 Years; a member of Saint John's Lutheran Church where he was active in the Lutheran Brotherhood both of Martins Ferry. He served in the U.S. Army and was a member of American Legion Post #38.
Mike was a long time supporter of Martins Ferry Athletics.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Helen Bodnar and Marsha Simon.

FRANCES ROSE WILSON, 91, of Martins Ferry, OH, passed away Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at Good Shepherd Nursing Home in Wheeling, WV after a long illness.
Frances was born in Martins Ferry, OH on September 9, 1926. She was the daughter of the late Luigi and Santa (Tarantina) Riccelli.
She was a graduate of Wheeling Hospital School of Nursing and worked as a registered nurse for many years before retiring to care for her family. She always welcomed family and friends into her home and was generous with her time and service. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Martins Ferry, Catholic Daughters and St. Mary's Funeral Committee.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by six brothers: Tom, Joe, Frank, Louis, Jim and George; two sisters, Mary Stover and Della Gdula.
In addition to her husband of 59 years, James B. Wilson, Sr., she is survived by daughter, Beth (Scott) Schwab, Richmond, VA; son, James B. (Marie) Wilson, Jr., Fairfield, OH; daughter, Jill (Dale) Hampshire, Hilliard, OH; grandsons Zachary Schwab and Aaron and Luke Hampshire; granddaughters Camryn Schwab and Lindsay and Sydney Wilson; and granddog, Buckeye; special niece, A. R. A. Raimonde, M.D. “Rome”, 94 of Martins Ferry, Ohio passed peacefully on March 20, 2018 surrounded by his loving family.
He was born May 5, 1923 in Yorkville, OH as son of Raffael and Anna Pulice Raimonde.
Preceding him in death were: infant daughter Renee, two sisters, Adelyn Raimonde of Yorkville, OH and Delores Raimonde, RN of Phoenix, AZ; and three brothers, Dr. Anthony Raimonde of Mesa, AZ, Orlando Raimonde of Tiltonsville, OH, and Albert Raimonde of Westerville,OH.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 35 years, Donna (Morgan) Raimonde, his sister Lonnie (Joe, deceased) Dolan of Indian Land, SC, Rudolph (Wanda) Raimonde of Phoenix, AZ, and Dr. James (Yolanda) Raimonde, DVM of Defiance, OH. Also surviving are: two daughters, Rebecca (Doug) Shipe of Littleton CO and Beth (David) Weaver of Wheeling, WV; two sons: Rodney (Dawn) Raimonde of Fuquay-Varina, NC, and Michael (Mary) Raimonde of Kenosha, WI; two stepdaughters; Leigh Prop of Cincinnati, OH; and Suzanne (Philip) Trouten of Martins Ferry, OH; stepson Scott Gibbons of Martins Ferry, OH. He also leaves behind eleven grandchildren: Reese Raimonde, Thomas Raimonde, Benjamin Raimonde, Parker Raimonde, David Weaver Jr., Eleanor Weaver, Lauren (Richie) Gryspeerdt, Jamie Prop, Ryan (Rachel) Marling, Elizabeth Gibbons, and Whitney Gibbons.
Dr. Raimonde was a graduate and Valedictorian of Yorkville High School class of 1941. He was a graduate of the College of Medicine of the Ohio State University, Columbus, OH, class of 1951.
He served in the Army Air Corps in World War II from 1943-1945, Hq Co. 884th Bomb Sq. (VH) 383rd Bomb group (VH), B-29 unit.
After graduating from medical school, he interned at the City Hospital of Akron, OH. He served as a physician in Martins Ferry from 1956 to retirement in 1996. He was a general practitioner, delivering over 5,000 babies and was beloved by his many patients.
He was a past President of the Medical Staff of Martins Ferry Hospital, a member and past President of Belmont County Medical Society and a 50-year member of the Ohio State Medical Association and the American Medical Association.
He was a member of American Legion Post 38 in Martins Ferry, OH and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4811 in Yorkville, OH.
He also served on the Board of Directors of the Health Plan of the Upper Ohio Valley. He was the plant physician for Wheeling Steel Corporation for 26 years.
In 2014, he was inducted into the Martins Ferry Hall of Honor.
Funeral liturgy with Mass will be celebrated at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Martins Ferry, OH at 11:00am on Monday, March 26, 2018 with Rev. Tom Marut as celebrant.
Interment will follow at Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove, OH where Belmont County Veterans Association will give Military Honors.

SCHWENDER, HAROLD E. "HALLY"Passed from this life into eternal life on Friday, March 23, 2018 at his home in Martins Ferry, Ohio, at the age of 75. He was born on January 19, 1943, the only son of the late Harold O. and Adabelle Davis Schwender
He is survived by his beloved wife, Monica Hornyak Schwender; sons, Mark (Cara) Schwender of Martins Ferry and Aaron Schwender of West Alexander, PA; grandson Mark Schwender of Martins Ferry; granddaughter Tiffany (Joey) Danehart of West Alexander; and great-grandsons Alex and Nolen; step-granddaughter Jessica Thapa; and children, Anthony and Delilah; sisters Cheryl (Kenn) Sickle of St. Clairsville, and Pam (Wolfgang) Marquardt of Austin, Texas; many beloved nieces, nephews, aunts, an uncle, cousins, friends, and his beloved faithful dog, Buckeye.
Hally dearly loved his mother-in-law, Isabelle Hornyak of Bellaire; sister-in-law Dana (Roger) Campbell and daughters of Columbus, OH; brother-in-law Allan (Diane) Hornyak and children of Loveland, OH.
In addition to his parents, Hally was preceded in death by his sisters, Viola McGee and Susan Tittle.
Hally retired from Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel and was the president and patriarch of the Schwender family reunion. He had many interests and hobbies, including gardening, making wine and woodworking. He is loved and will be missed by all who knew him.
A Christian funeral service was held at the funeral home Tuesday, March 27, 2018 at 11: 00 a.m. with Pastor Kenn Sickle officiating. Interment followed at Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove, OH.

Charles Eugene Wilson, 95, of Colerain, OH, went to his eternal rest on March 31, 2018 at Liza's Place, to be united with his wife, Leona.
Charles was born on September 3, 1922, the son of the late Mary Abagail Hocking Wilson and Francis Eugene Wilson.
He was a devoted husband and wonderful father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He loved riding his motorcycle and cutting grass on his tractor with his beloved dog, Onyx. He was a life-long hard worker retiring in his 90's from Wilson Blacktop Corp. where he enjoyed working daily with his sons for 30 plus years.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Leona E. (Frohnapfel) Wilson; sister, Virginia Rose; brother, Robert Wilson and grandson, Flynt Wilson.
Charles is survived by his five sons; Charles (Sandy), Mark (Janice), Dale (Carla), Kevin (Marcie) all of Colerain and Denis (Gretchen) of Wheeling, WV; nine grandchildren; Tiffany Henninger, Ty Wilson, Jamie Kovalski, Katie Christiansen, Carrie Beckett, Dale Wilson, Jr., Jared Wilson, Matt Wilson and Darek Wilson. 11 great grandchildren: Sunnie, Ian, Brodie, Audrey, Adrienne, Makenna, Madison, Scarlett, Charlie, Kole, Luke and many nieces and nephews.
We would like to say a special THANK YOU to Charlie's (Chaz's) girls especially Martha, "Piedmont Marsha". Also thank you to the wonderful nurses and staff at Eastern Ohio Regional Hospital 3rd floor and 1 South and the entire staff at Liza's Place.

She was born in Yorkville, OH on January 24, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Tessi Anna (Gudza) Misko.
She was a retired employee at the former Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel, Yorkville Plant.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Heslop.
She is survived by two sons, Kurt V. Heslop, Martins Ferry and Gregory N. (Pamela) Heslop, Piedmont, OH; brother, William Misko, IA.

Melvin Joseph Lovell, 84, of Martins Ferry, OH passed peacefully surrounded by his loving family Monday, April 16. 2018
He was born April 7, 1934 in Tiltonsville, OH, as son of Sylvia and Ernest Lovell.
Preceding him in death were two sisters, Helen Supinski and Ruth Lovell; three brothers, Ernest Lovell, Edward Lovell, and Harry Hill.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 60 years, Irene (Buonamici) Lovell; his sister Elsie Mackey; two sons, Joe (Diane) Lovell of Martins Ferry, and Mark (Heather) Lovell of Mechanicsburg, PA; five treasured grandchildren, Kristina Lovell, Christopher Lovell, Gary Messer, Travis Lovell, and Trevor Lovell; one beloved great-grandchild, Pierre Lovell; a loving daughter-in-law, Tammy Graham; one loving Godson Mark Horvath; many nieces and nephews; many special, close friends; and one adored four-legged best friend, Domino.
Melvin graduated from Warren Consolidated High School, class of 1953. He worked for Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel and retired after 38 years of service.
He was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church where he served on the church council, served as a deacon, and served on the Tuesday work crew.
He was a member of the Alert Engine Martins Ferry Fire Department and in his early years, a member of the Martins Ferry Emergency Squad. He was a member of the Martins Ferry Elks, the Bridgeport Eagles, and Mt. Pleasant Hunting Club. He also helped start the Rayland Fire Department.
He adored his family and loved to cheer on his grandchildren in any activity they participated in. He loved to hunt, fish, golf, bowl, and play cards with his buddies. He enjoyed rooting for the Pittsburgh Steelers, Penguins, and Pirates. He was an avid NASCAR fan; he especially loved Dale Earnhardt and Dale Earnhardt, Jr. He could be found on Friday nights rooting on the Purple Riders.
All who knew him will never forget his kindness, generosity, compassion, and his wonderful sense of humor. His wife, children, and grandchildren meant everything to him! He will be remembered with so much love and laughter that their lives and the lives of all they touch will be better for knowing him.
Funeral service was held at the funeral home Saturday, April 21, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. William O. Webster, Jr. officiating.
Interment followed at Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove, OH.

KEVIN JOHN NICKLE, 59, of Martins Ferry, OH, died Wednesday, May 16th, 2018 at his residence.
Kevin was born in Wheeling, WV on June 19, 1958, a son of the late Felix Joseph Nickle and Frieda (Wasle) Nickle who survives him.
He served in the U.S. Army.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by one sister, Tina Nickle.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by two brothers, Felix Nickle, Castle Rock, CO and Alvin Nickle, Martins Ferry, OH; two sisters, Marlene Nickle, Denver, CO and Mary (Eric) George, Granville, OH.

Nancy Lee Coyle, 71, formerly of Martins Ferry, OH, passed away Monday, April 16, 2018 at her residence in Swansboro, NC, with her family by her side.
She was born November 13, 1946 in Martins Ferry, OH daughter of the late, Berton and Irene Minehart Nichols.

She is survived by husband, Charles “Chuck” Coyle of the home; daughters, Missy Coyle of Swansboro and Kristen Coyle of Swansboro; sons, Charles T. Coyle, Jr. (Sandra) of Wisconsin, Kevin Coyle of Indiana, PA, and Jason Coyle and wife Janelle of Indiana, PA; grandchildren, Zachery, Aaron, and Alex Coyle, Sherayah and Lailah Wilborn; sisters, Wanda Sells, Rose Mary Conway, and Jackie Hoffman.

JOHN MARSHAL SCHELL, JR., 68, of St. Clairsville, OH, passed away Thursday, May 10, 2018, at home surrounded by his loved ones.
John was a proud veteran of the United States Army and served his country in the Vietnam War. He worked as a turbine mechanic for AEP for 32 years.
John will be best remembered as a family man and doting husband/father/"pap". He did not miss a wrestling match, basketball game, softball game or soccer match.
He was preceded in death by his father, John M. Schell, Sr., his mother, Martha (Bowers) Schell and brother, Alfred Schell.
He is survived by his wife, Diana (Ritchey) Schell; son, Chad (Loan) Nelson of Taylors, SC; daughter, Somer Schell (Ty) Platt of Martins Ferry, OH and Dana Schell (Joe) Houseberg of Mount Vernon, OH; seven grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. Also surviving are two sisters, Shirley (Ron) Carmichael, Chester, WV and Sandy (Bill) Miller of Pennsylvania.
In lieu of a memorial service, there will be a celebration of life at the Schell house in St. Clairsville, OH on May 19, 2018 from 4 to 8 p.m.

He is also survived by three step-grandchildren, and one step-great grandchild; numerous nieces and nephews.

Jim was born in Martins Ferry, OH on June 8, 1954,the son of the late James Robert and Bertha E (Micker) Holland.
He was a retired Chemical Engineer at the Cardinal Plant, Brilliant, OH; Honorary member of the Martins Ferry Fire Dept., Vigilant Fire House and a member of the State of Ohio, Professional Engineers.
In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by a sister, Debbie Holland.
He is survived by his wife, Marilyn Louise (Jeffers) Holland; two daughters, Dawn Holland, Chicago, IL and Lesley (Edward) Folds, Westerville, OH; six grandchildren, Breydyn, Hannah, Khai, Eden, Gianna and Julie; two step- grandchildren, Tyler and Eddie.

He worked as a bus driver for the Martins Ferry School System Martins Ferry.
He was a member of St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church, Colerain, OH.
Glenn was a member of the Ohio River Valley Elks Lodge # 231; Past Exalted Rulers Association, both of Martins Ferry; Knights Of Columbus of Colerain.
Glenn was a avid hunter and fisherman, who enjoyed these outings with his son, Tommy.
In addition to his parents, Glenn was preceded in death by a brother, Louis (Butch) Susi; legged buddies, Josey and Jessie
He is survived by his wife, Maryellen (Holler) DeVaul; son, Thomas G.(fiancée,' Jennifer) DeVaul, Colerain, OH; three brothers, Rick, John and Chuck DeVaul; sister, Dianna Kolb; numerous nieces and nephews; legged buddy, Katie (buggers).
Friends will be received at the funeral home Wednesday from 2 to 8 p.m. Funeral service will be held at the funeral home at 11 a.m. on Thursday, May 31, 2018 with Rev. William O. Webster, Jr. officiating.
Interment will follow at Weeks Cemetery, Bridgeport, OH.
The Elks Lodge will hold services Wednesday at 7 p.m.

He is also survived by eight grandchildren.
