ANTHONY BERNARDO Obituary

ANTHONY "TONY" BERNARDO, 98, of Martins Ferry, OH, died Monday, January 8, 2018.
Tony was born in Chester, WV on February 24, 1919, the son of the late Nicodemus and Anna (Bumbico) Bernardi.
He was a retired construction worker / cement finisher.
He was a member of First United Methodist Church, Martins Ferry; Ohio City Lodge #486, Royal Arch Masons, Knights Templar, Osiris Temple, Arab Patrol, Belmont- Monroe Shrine Club, Legion of Honor, and Northern Panhandle Shrine Club. He served in the U.S. Navy.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Sarah L. "Sally" (Gemas) Bernardo; an infant son, Arthur Anthony; four brothers, Lonny, Frank, Louie, and Marion; and a sister, Minnie Marchio.
He is survived by daughter, Carolyn A. (James) Van Dyne, Englewood, OH; son, Richard I. (Carol) Bernardo, Fairfield, OH; four grandchildren, Carla Van Dyne; Jared (Shirley) Bernardo; Ryan Bernardo; Erin (Jason) Stoner; five great-grandchildren, Jackson Stoner; Alexis Stoner; Tyler Stoner; Leo Bernardo; Alex T. Smith.
Services are private at the convenience of family.
Interment at Riverview Cemetery, Martins Ferry.
