DONALD HOWARD WEIGAND

DONALD HOWARD WEIGAND, 90, of Martins Ferry, OH, passed away Wednesday, January 17, 2018.
Don was born in Wheeling, WV on November 11, 1927, he was the son of the late Alfred John and Albertha Dora (Finck) Weigand.
He was a retired welder for the City of Martins Ferry and a former coal miner for Valley Camp Coal. He was a member of Ohio City Lodge #486, Scottish Rite, American Legion of Martins Ferry and VFW of Elm Grove. He served in the U.S. Army.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Jeanette (Semple) Weigand; two brothers, Alfred and Edwin; sister, Ruth E. Dawson.
He is survived by son, John A. (Sue) Weigand; grandson, Ian E. Weigand,; granddaughter, Nicole D. (David) Dawson, all of Martins Ferry; numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral service was held at the funeral home on Monday, January 22, 2018 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Tom Marut officiating.
Belmont Veterans Association gave military honors prior to the service at 10:45 a.m.
Interment followed in Riverview Cemetery Martins Ferry.
