EDWARD LAWRENCE BARAN, 89, of Martins Ferry, OH , passed away at East
Ohio Hospital Long Term Care on Wednesday, April 17, 2024.
He was born in Crescent, OH on January 29, 1935, the son of the late
Joseph and Sophia (Lumpcik) Baran.
He was a retired machinist at the former Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel,
Mingo Junction plant, but farming was his passion. He was proudest of
his "Polish" tomatoes that he tended and grew to the size of a dinner
plate! .
He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church Martins Ferry, OH and
served in the US Army Reserves.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Joseph and four sisters,
Cecelia Vercellino, Virginia Hess, Mildred Barron and Josephine Baran.
Edward is survived by his loving wife, Sylvia Rose (Snezek) Baran. In
addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Deborah A.
(Stephen) Llaneza, son, Edward M. (Tina) Baran, both of Columbus, OH.
He is also survived by six grandchildren, and two great grandchildren.
Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated at St. Mary's Catholic
Church, Martins Ferry, OH. at 10 am on Saturday, April 20th, with
celebrant, Rev.Tom Marut .
There will be a private, family visitation at Keller Funeral Home with
Interment followed in Mount Calvary Cemetery Wheeling, WV.
