FLORENCE ANNA SMITH, 96, of Martins Ferry, OH , passed away Wednesday October 23, 2024 at Liza's Place.
She was born in, Colerain, OH on January 27, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Harry A. and Margaret (Herink) Freese.
She was a former teachers aide and librarian at Martins Ferry School System.
She was a member of First Baptist Church.
She was a member of the PNA and Italian Club both of Martins Ferry, where she enjoyed her favorite drink, Black Velvet & Diet Coke.
Flossie loved going to the beach on vacations with her family and visits with her family in Columbus. She loved her grandchildren very much. She was loved by everyone who knew her. She will be missed and will be forever in our hearts.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Ethel Dato and Elsie (Margaret) Freese; three brothers, Joseph, Jack and George.
She is survived by three daughters, Linda (Ralph) Borders, Becky (Terry) Pethtel, Nancy J. (Stephen) Fabina; six grandchildren, David Borders, Dale Borders, Stephen E. Fabina, Holly (Fabina) Gadd,Terry Lee Pethtel, Preston Pethtel and 10 great grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
We want to thank friends, Karen, Mary and Lea for all the love and support they gave our mom always and thank you Pastor Larry for being there with us.
Friends will be received at the First Baptist Church, 306 Locust Street, Martins Ferry from 12 noon until time of service at 1:30 with Rev. Larry Lewis officiating
