GEORGE RUCH Obituary

GEORGE RUSSELL RUCH, 78, of Rayland, OH , died Friday, July 15th, 2016.

George was born in Pleasant City, OH on October 24, 1937, the son of the late Harry J. (Pete) and Olive Merle (Osborne) Ruch.

He was a retired Auditor at the former Western Auto (Tire America).; a member of the First Christian Church of Martins Ferry, OH.; Past President of the Ohio Society, Sons of the American Revolution and Past President of the Ebenezer Zane Chapter, OHSSAR, St. Clairsville, OH. He was also a member of the Ohio River Valley Elks Lodge #231 and former trustee. He served in the U.S. Air Force.

He is survived by his wife, Darlene J. (Matheas); son, Douglas W. Ruch, Chatham, IL; daughter, Michelle A. (Jeff) Lynn, Bloomington, IL.; step-son, Robert Del (Carla) Barris, Martins Ferry, OH; two sisters, Judith A. Swerens and Linda S. (Al) Gornik. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, one step-grandchild, four great-grandchildren; four nephews, two nieces, five grand-nephews and eight grand-nieces.

Funeral service were held at the funeral home on Thursday, July 21, 2016 at 11 a.m. with Rod Kasler, officiating.

Interment followed at Holly Memorial Gardens Pleasant Grove, OH.

Sons of The American Revolution held services at the funeral home on Wednesday at 3 p.m. followed by the Elks Lodge at 7 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First Christian Church, 710 So. Zane Highway, Martins Ferry, OH 43935.
