IRENE MARGARET (ZAPPONE) STRATTON

IRENE MARGARET STRATTON,  104, formerly of St. Clairsville, OH , passed away Monday, March 30, 2026 at her sons residence. 
She was born in Smithfield Twp., OH on July 5, 1921,  she was the daughter of the late Frank and Margaret May (Powell) Zappone.
She was a retired secretary at Consolidated Coal Cadiz, Ohio. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, St. Clairsville, OH.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Chester Stratton a son, Harry (Butch) Stratton, brother, Clifford Zappone and a sister, Betty (Thomas) Oblak.
She is survived by a son, Terry E. (Sherry) Stratton; grandson, Chad (Casey) Stratton; great grandson, Mason and his companion (Jessica Waggle) Suto,  all of Martins Ferry, OH. 4
Friends will be received at the First Presbyterian Church, 110 South Marietta Street, St. Clairsville, OH on May 16, 2026 from 11 am until time of a Celebration of Life Service service at 12:00., with Rev. Homer Hardin officiating. Luncheon will follow at Grace Presbyterian Church, 7 N. 4th Street, Martins Ferry, OH.
Interment at Holly Memorial Gardens Pleasant Grove, OH. 
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First Presbyterian Church 110 So. Marietta Street St. Clairsville, OH 43950.
