James Richard Strama 62, also known to many as "Jocko" passed away at his Southport, NC home on Tuesday June 11, 2024. Jim was born May 30, 1962 in Columbus, OH., son of the late Richard Wayne Strama and Saundra (Engler) Strama of Crossville, TN. Jim enjoyed boating and being near the water. He also enjoyed cooking for his friends and family. Most people share their favorite Strambolis or Martins Ferry Yacht Club memories that they had with him.
Jim most recently worked at the port in Wilmington, NC where he would load and unload shipping containers.
His other hobbies included fishing, cheering on his beloved Steelers but, most recently he took to the southern style of living and you could almost always catch him relaxing on his porch.
In addition to his mother he is survived by a son, Ryan (Kat) Strama of Lake Stevens, WA; daughter, Jessica Strama, Saint Clouds, FL; sister, Jodi(Mark) Thomas, Southport, NC; five grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, donation may be made to Ryan Strama, 10025 1st Street, NE, Lake Stevens, WA. Friends are invited to a celebration of life to be held on Saturday, August 31, 2024 from 5 until 8 pm at Route 40 Lumberjaxe, 41761 National Road, Belmont, OH.
