JOHN BAZAN, 96, of Martins Ferry, OH died Wednesday, May 25th, 2016 at Barberton Hospital, Barberton, OH.
John was born in Connorsville, Ohio on September 27, 1919, son of the late Lukas and Suzanna (Gaca) Bazan.
He was a retired employee for the former Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Yorkville Plant. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of Martins Ferry. Lifetime member of the V.F.W. He was a W.W. II Army Veteran having served in the South Pacific
In addition to his parents and his wife, Barbara Ann (LEJA) Bazan, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Paul, Mike and Joe; four sisters, Mary, Elizabeth, Anna and Julia
He is survived by two daughters, Karen Bazan, Martins Ferry and Christine wife of David Dowdell, Barberton, OH. two sisters, Margaret Shearer, Fulton, MD and Irene Maria, Lanham, MD; three granddaughters, Lisa (Mike) Nichols, Barberton, OH; Allison (Geoff) Stokes, Dublin, OH; Tracey (Mike) Eberst, Columbus, OH.
Funeral Liturgy with Mass was celebrated at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Martins Ferry, at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, May 31st, 2016 with Rev. Tom Marut as the celebrant.
Wake service was held at the funeral home Monday at 7:15 p.m.
Interment followed in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Wheeling, WV.
Military Honors were given by the Belmont Co. Veterans Assoc. at the cemetery.
