JOSEPH BEDNARIK, 83, of Martins Ferry, OH , passed away Thursday, March 4th, 2021.
Joe was born in Maynard, OH on October 13, 1937, the was the son of the late Max and Rosie (Svacil) Bednarik.
He was a retired bank manager at Citizens Bank, Colerain, OH.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church, Martins Ferry, OH, Honorary Life-Time Deacon, taught Sunday School and helped anything to witness about Jesus. Ohio City Lodge, Past President of the former Kiwanis Club and Ruritan Club. He also served in the U
S Marines and the US Air Force.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Jean Bartrug and a brother, Max Bednarik, Jr.
In addition to his wife, Jacqueline Hope (Davis) Bednarik. he is survived by two daughters, Becky (Larry) Roberts, Weirton, WV; Rachel L. (Richard) Kerns, Marion, OH; six grandchildren, Hope Roberts Chiodi, Joseph Roberts, Chancey, Bethany, Zoe and Ellery; great -grandchildren, Dominic, Daniella, Julia, Jalyn; Kyren, Amelia,Brayden,; and Kason. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Jean Bartrug and a brother, Max Bednarik, Jr.; several nieces and nephews.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Keller Funeral Home, 615 Hanover Street, Martina Ferry, where friends will be received March 7, 2021, Sunday from 12 Noon until time of service at 3 pm, with Rev. Larry Lewis officiating. Private interment will be held Monday at Holley Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove, OH.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to 1st Baptist Church, 306 Locust Street, Martins Ferry, OH 43935.
