KAREN JO (DAWSON) PRINCIPE

KAREN JO PRINCIPE, 78, of Martins Ferry, OH, passed away Saturday, August 23rd, 2025.

Karen was born in Wheeling, WV on January 27, 1947, she was the daughter of the late John Joseph and Helen Mary (Schaefer) Dawson.

She was a retired supervisor at the former ABI Food Service of Martins Ferry and a librarian at St. Mary's Central School.

She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of Martins Ferry.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, John; twin daughters, Jackie and Judy; twin sister, Sharon Rose.

She is survived by a son, John A. (Michelle) Principe, III, Morgantown, WV; daughter, Jennifer A. (Ben) Braddock, Leesburg, VA; sister, Marybet (Richard) Hoffer; grandchildren, Hayley and Ryan Principe; Jaidan and Samantha Braddock; several nieces and nephews.

Friends are invited to a Memorial Mass at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Martins Ferry, on Thursday, September 4. 2025 at 11 am with Rev. Tom Marut as the Celebrant.

Interment will follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery, Wheeling, WV.

The family would like to thank the staff at Forest Hills and Amedisys Health Care and also a special thanks to her sister Marybet for all the care and support.

Friends are invited to a luncheon at the church following the committal service at the cemetery.
