OLGA THERESA POLUGA

OLGA THERESA POLUGA, 94, of N. 8th Street, Martins Ferry, OH, died Thursday, July 14th, 2016.

She was born in Maynard, OH on January 1, 1922, daughter of the late Anton and Anna (Pozar) Smila.

She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and the Ladies of St. Mary's and also a member of the Mackey Community Association all of Martins Ferry.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bernard E. Poluga; three brothers, John, Anthony and Frank Smila; five sisters, Mary Krasevec, Josephine Rock, Anna Zadell, Amelia Nemec and Joan Theiss.

She is survived by son, Michael E. (Janet) Poluga, Martins Ferry, OH; daughter, Paula C. (Richard) Gorsuch, Columbus, OH; three granddaughters, Tammy Lea Weals; Alison (Jeremy) Young; Alicia (David) McKnight; and Bubcha to great grandson, Logan Young. She will also be missed by her caregivers Teena Bazar and Rick Rodgers.

Friends will be received at the funeral home Sunday from 3 until 7 p.m.

Funeral Liturgy with Mass was celebrated at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Martins Ferry at 11 a.m. on Monday, July 18, 2016 with Rev. Tom Marut officiating.

Mausoleum entombment followed in St. Mary's Cemetery, Martins Ferry.

Wake service was held at the funeral home on Sunday at 6:30 p.m.
