RUTH (WEIGAND) DAWSON

RUTH (WEIGAND) DAWSON, 84, of Chantilly, VA and formerly of Martins Ferry, OH passed away Monday, October 3rd, 2016 at her residence.

She was born in Wheeling, WV on October 25, 1931, daughter of the late Alfred John and Albertha Dora (Finck) Weigand.

Ruth was a retired employee of the former Bell Atlantic.

In addition to her parents and her husband, Clyde Blake Dawson she was preceded in death by two grandsons, Matthew Blake Dawson, Robert Clyde Dawson; two brothers, Alfred John, Jr. and Edwin Arthur Weigand

She is survived by two sons, Mark C. (Laura) Dawson, Chantilly, VA; David L. (Pauline) Dawson, Chantilly, VA; four grandchildren, Patrick L. Dawson; Sean M. Dawson; Gabrielle L. Kelly; Leanne F. Dawson; brother, Donald H. Weigand, Martins Ferry, OH; numerous nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Mass was held at 11 a.m. on Monday, October 10, 2016 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Martins Ferry with Rev. Tom Marut as the celebrant.

Interment followed in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Wheeling, WV.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary's Church, 20 N. 4th Street, Martins Ferry, OH 43935.
