WILBUR FRANKLIN BAKER, SR, 88, of St. Clairsville, OH, entered eternal rest Friday, September 3, 2021.
He was born in Emerson, OH on November 6, 1932, a son of the late William Ira and Sarah Kathryn (Wickham) Baker.
He was a retired employee of the former Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel of Martins Ferry, OH. He was a member of the Harbor of Hope Church, St. Clairsville, OH.: American Legion of Dillonvale. OH. He served in the US Navy during the Korean War.
Wilbur, with his two sons were avid hunters and fisherman.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three brothers, Harry, Lawrence and Paul and four sisters, Ethel, Estleen, Maycel and Hazel.
In addition to his wife, Jean Evaline (Porter) Baker, he is survived by two sons, Wilbur F. (Joyce) Baker, Jr., Martins Ferry, OH; Randy (Rebecca) Baker, Colerain, OH; two daughters, Jeanie (Rev. Michael) Smith, Weirton, WV; Tammy (Philip) Cappella, Rayland, OH; He is also survived by 9 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the funeral home, Thursday 2-4 and 6-8 pm and Friday, September 10, 2021, at the Harbor of Hope Church, Rt. 9, St. Clairsville, from Noon until time of service at 1 pm. with Pastor Dean Myers, officiating
Interment will follow at Holly Memorial Gardens Pleasant Grove, OH.
Military honors will be given by the Belmont Co. Veterans Association, at the cemetery.
