TILLIE ANN ZEPPOS, 91, of Martins Ferry, OH, passed away Thursday, October 11, 2018.
She was born in Martins Ferry on March 15, 1927, the daughter of the late George V. and Elizabeth (Preda) Bonchu.
She was a member of Greek Orthodox Church Of The Life-Giving Fountain of Martins Ferry.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harry A. Zeppos; two brothers, Russell and Eugene Bonchu.
She is survived by two daughters, Donna J. (Neal) Chase, Wheeling, WV and Diana M. (David) Marocco, Coraopolis, PA; two grandchildren, Natalie Urban and Nicolas Marocco, great-grandson, Owen Urban
Services are private at the convenience of family.

NANCY JUNE STAUFFER, 76, of Martins Ferry, OH, passed away Thursday, February 13, 2020.  
Nancy was born in Woodlands, WV on June 28, 1943, a daughter of the late Herbert and Hazel (Gatts) Kelley.

She was a retired Registered Nurse at the former East Ohio Regional Hospital. She was a member of Grace Presbyterian Church of Martins Ferry.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Frank L. Stauffer; two brothers, Robert and Norman Kelley; one sister, Nina Kelley Hanson.

She is survived by two sons, Michael F. (Tonda) Stauffer, Bridgeport. OH and Matthew J. Stauffer, Martins Ferry; two grandaughters, Lindy Stauffer, Bridgeport, OH and Kylie Stauffer, Bridgeport.; grandson, Lucas Ibsen, Cambridge, OH; two great-granddaughters, Emma and Skyler Ibsen; great grandson, John Ibsen; sister, Shirlene (Duke) Horstemeyer, Weirton, WV.

Final arrangements are pending.

KENNETH EARL (KENNY) GRATE, 69, of Martins Ferry, OH passed away Monday, August 31, 2020. 
Kenny was born in Salem, OH on March 22, 1951, a son of Emily Woolard Grate of Washington, NC.
He was a retired police officer, D.A.R.E. Instructor, and a School Bus Driver for the City of Martins Ferry. He was a member of First Christian Church of Martins Ferry. Kenny served in the U.S. Navy during the Viet Nam War.
He was preceded in death by his father, William Grate.
In addition to his mother he is survived by his wife, Marianne (Scheehle) Grate; two brothers, Allen and Bill Grate; two sisters, Brenda Afton and Cynthia Grate; two beloved pets, Piper and Penny; numerous nieces and nephews.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Keller Funeral Home, 615 Hanover Street, Martins Ferry where friends will be received Saturday, September 5, 2020 from 11:30-1:30 p.m. Graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. at Riverview Cemetery, Martins Ferry with Rod Kasler officiating. 
Belmont Co. Veterans Association will give military honors at the cemetery preceding the service.

DOLORES "Dee" TERESA (TEMPLIN) DONALD, 83, of St. Clairsville, OH passed away September 3, 2020 at Kobacker House in Columbus, Ohio.
Dolores was born in Wheeling WV, September 21, 1936. She was the daughter of the late George and Helen Templin.
She was preceded in death by her husband Robert T. Donald, who shared 36 years of absolute love and devotion to each other and their family.
She is survived by her children, Craig Bierkortte, Paul (Denise) Bierkortte, Darlene (Ross) Kleiner and Beth (Jim) Matuska, 8 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Also, her brother George Templin, her sisters Phyllis (Paul) Robey and Sharon (Joe) McCutcheon.
She was retired after 20 years of dedicated service to the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services in St. Clairsville, OH.
She was an amazing mother, grandmother, sister and good friend to many. Her love and devotion to helping and caring for others was unconditional.

After a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer, Shirley Ann (Tankovits) Moczek, 82, of Glen Dale, West Virginia, formerly of Martins Ferry, Ohio, passed away at her home on September 21, 2020, surrounded by her loving family. 
Born September 24, 1937, in Martins Ferry, Ohio, to the late Joseph and Anna (Smith) Tankovits, Shirley was a 1955 graduate of St. John Central High School in Bellaire, Ohio. There, she met the love of her life, Paul R. Moczek. Together with Paul they raised four daughters: Paula (Marty) Spanner of Bethel Park, Pennsylvania; Jayme (Perry) Nardo of Shadyside, Ohio; JoEllen (Lou) Pytlak of Glen Dale, West Virginia; and Dawn (Todd) Zelczak of Cincinnati, Ohio. 
Shirley was a loving and proud grandmother (Mamie) to her “Baker’s Dozen:” Marty (Sarah) Spanner, Matthew (Emily) Nardo, Benjamin (Alison) Spanner, Bryan (Emma) Nardo, Kaitlyn Pytlak, Natalie Spanner, Kyle Pytlak, Daniel Spanner, Hannah Pytlak, Luke Nardo, Riley Zelczak, Steven Zelczak, and Audrey Zelczak. Her joy of life can be seen through the eyes of her four great-grandchildren: Bianca, Oliver, Joseph and Dominick. 
In addition to her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by her husband Paul of 56 years, a brother Joseph "Sonny" (Jean) Tankovits, and brother-in-law George W. "Bill" Collignon. 
Surviving is her sister: Marlene (Tankovits) Collignon -- as well as several special nieces and nephews.
Shirley worked for the city of Martins Ferry as the secretary to the Mayor in the late 1950s. She later was an administrative assistant to Green International of Sewickley, Pennsylvania.
Shirley was a lifelong member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Martins Ferry, Ohio. In 1988, Shirley and Paul founded the St. Mary’s chapter of the Infant of Prague Society, bringing faith and hope to hundreds of Catholics in the Ohio Valley for the past 3 decades. 
The family will honor Shirley’s memory with a private viewing on Thursday, September 24. Respects can be made in the vestibule of St. Mary’s Church from 10-11 am Friday, September 25, prior to Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am, concelebrated by Rev. Thomas Marut and our special family priest, Rev. Thomas Magary.  
The family requests that proper social distancing measures be adhered to and a mask be worn during visitation and the Mass. 
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Keller Funeral Home, 615 Hanover St., Martins Ferry, Ohio.

KATHLEEN HUGHES, 56, of Wheeling, WV , died Wednesday, September 23, 2020. 
Kathleen was born in Tulsa, OK on August 11, 1964, daughter of the late, James and Ketora (Russ) Hughes
She was a member of Metropolitan Baptist Church of Wheeling, WV.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robin Johnson. 
She is survived by four daughters, Robin K., Romanita N., Tacara T. and Kathleen K.  Hughes; son, Robin K. Johnson;  grandchildren,  Robin, Khaliyah, Raven,  Khylah D, Kaylani and  Aziza.
At the family's request there will be no visitation.

She was born in Bellaire, OH on January 7, 1989, a daughter of Donald Charles Menough of Bellaire, OH and Georgette (Carter) Menough of Brookside, OH.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, Annette  Fitzhugh Carter and maternal grandfather  George Carter
In addition to her parents, she is survived by son, Jaron King, Jr.; four daughters, Nevaeh Menough; J'rya King; Maleigh Menough and Katalaya Menough; two brothers, Zachery and Alec Menough; sister, Elizabeth Gibson and numerous uncles and cousins.
Friends will be received at the Tree of Life Church, 801 Virginia Street, Martins Ferry, OH on Friday, October 16, 2020 from10 until time of service at 1 p.m. with Pastor James Agnew, III officiating.

He was born in Wheeling, WV on March 17, 1952, a son of the late Chester and Ruth Elizabeth (Wagner) Coss.
Dennis was a member of the Colerain Presbyterian Church of Colerain, OH.
He was an avid Purple Rider booster for all sports. He also was an avid bowler who rolled a 300 game.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Sandy Brown and a brother, Chester Coss.
He is survived by a brother, Charles (Diana) Coss, Steubenville, OH; nephew, Charles M. (Connie) Coss, Wintersville, OH; niece, Michelle (Ronald) Yost, Mt. Lebanon, PA.

Lloyd was born in Martins Ferry, OH on May 2, 1937, the son of the late Edward and Hazel (Long) Hood.
He was retired from the former Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel, Yorkville plant.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Martins Ferry.
He served in the U.S.Marines. He was a member of the American Legion Post 38 of Martins Ferry.
In addition to his wife, Carol (Gumiela) Hood, he is survived by a son, Lloyd Hood, Jr., Martins Ferry; daughter,, Denise (Brad)  Rinderer, Raleigh, NC. He is also survived by three grandchildren, Brittany ( Matt ) Columbo, Zachary (Ashley) Hood and Andrew (Jordan) Rinderer and one great-grandson, Lucas Columbo.

ANDREW ZAVATSKY, JR. 92, passed away peacefully at Good Shepard Nursing Home.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Audrey (Hrabak) and his parents Andrew and Julia (Repchak). Andrew is survived by his two children, Karen (Greg) Dugan, St. Clairsville and Gary (Paige) Zavatsky of Martins Ferry. as well as three grandchildren , Clinton (Amber) Dugan and Taylre of Atlanta, GA and Matteson (Cole) Zavatsky of Martins Ferry.
Andrew is also survived by two brothers, Robert (Bonnie) and George (Catherine) sister, Carolyn (Raymond) and in-law, Geneva (Lewis) as well as many nieces and nephews and cousins who will all miss him very much. Andrew was a proud veteran of the U.S. Air Force. Private services will be held at St. Nicholas Orthodox church in Barton, OH. There will be no visitation due to Covid 19 Restrictions and internment will be immediately following the service. A celebration of life will be held at a future date. PALMINA J. SALL, 87, formerly of Martins Ferry, OH passed away Tuesday, December 8, 2020.
She was born on June 2, 1933, daughter of the late Rose (Marconi) and Vincenzo (Sam) Lucarelli.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Robert; sisters, Arlene, Mary (Mam) and Katherine; brothers, Vince and Jerry.
She was a retired pharmacy technician and longtime volunteer at East Ohio Regional Hospital and a child of God, dedicating many years of love and service to St. Mary's Parish in Martins Ferry. She will forever be remembered as an amazing cook, baker, Polka Queen and someone who loved everyone unconditionally and without judgement.
She is survived by her children, Robert (Margaret) Sall of Shadyside, OH; Susanne Weigand of Martins Ferry, OH; Tina (Steve) Bujenovic of Yellow Springs, OH grandchildren, Nikki (David) Dawson, Megan (Zack) Kennan, Beth Sall, Ian Weigand, Chris Sall, Maria and Alex Bujenovic; and great-grandchildren, Lola, Sophie and Bobby Kennan.
She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and many others who considered her their " Bonus Mom".
Private visitation and interment in St. Mary's Cemetery.

JOHN LEE HERCULES, “HERK”, 74, of Bridgeport, OH, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 15, 2020. 
John was born in Wheeling, WV on February 22, 1946, a son of the late John Richard and Mildred Jane (Haddon) Hercules.
He was a retired heavy equipment operator at Local 132, Operating Engineers.
He was Presbyterian by faith.
He served in the US Navy. 
In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by a daughter, Michelle Jane; two brothers, James R. and Kenneth W. Hercules and a sister, Martha Jane Butler.
In addition to his wife, Darlene (Steimman) he is survived by a brother, Robert D. (Patsy) Hercules, Warwood, WV; three daughters, Teressa (Mike) Wolf, Martins Ferry, OH, Katrina (Joe) Czuchran, Rayland, OH, Janet (Brian) Keller, Sharrard, WV; seven grandchildren, Kayla Wolf, Columbus, OH, Michael Wolf, Martins Ferry, OH, John Thomas Wolf, Martins Ferry, OH, Shayla (Ryan) Gilham, Rayland, OH; great-granddaughter, McKinley Jane, Rayland, OH; grandson, Brennan Czuchran, Cleveland, OH; grandson, Austin Keller, Sherrard, WV; granddaughter, Kyllie Keller, Sharrard, WV; several nieces and nephews.
John will be missed by his fur babies.
John loved being outside working in his yard on his Kubota and helping his neighbors.

LARRY MELTON KISS, 78, of Rayland, OH, passed away Tuesday, December 29, 2020.
Larry was born in Martins Ferry, OH on May 22, 1942, a son of the late George and Margaret (Dickenson) Kiss.
He was a retired Boiler Operator at former Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel.
He was a member of Grace Presbyterian Church of Martins Ferry, OH.
He served in the US. Air Force.
Larry enjoyed hunting and fishing, especially catching walleye and perch on Lake Erie, with friends and family. His most favorable times were spent with his grandchildren, who he dearly loved.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by five brothers and two sisters.
He is survived by a son, Larry M. Kiss, Jr., Rayland, two daughters, Kelly A. (Samuel) Jones, Tiltonsville, OH; Wendy N. (Jason) Pribanich, Uniontown, OH; six grandchildren, Donna Jo, Liza, Taylor,; Riley, Paige and Drew; beloved friend, Linda Archer; former wife, Barbara Kiss.

Jim was born in Martins Ferry, on May 11, 1938, a son of the late Tiburtius I. "Ty" and Regina (Raab) Miller.
He was a retired Bricklayer at Marquart Inc. Triadelphia, W. V.. Former Miller Construction Co. of Martins Ferry.
He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus #1421. BPOE #231, all of Martins Ferry; Bricklayers Union Local 9 of Bellaire.
He served in the US. Army. 
In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by three brothers, Tom, Robert and Jerome Miller
In addition to his wife, Judy (Burnett), he is survived by two sisters, Mary Angela "Sue" and her husband, Dick Ney, Toledo, Ohio; Dolores "DoDo" and her husband, Larry Schafer, Martins Ferry; great aunt, Kathy Vogler, Wheeling; brother-in-law, Don Seth, Santa Barbara, CA; numerous nieces and nephews.

NATHANIAL STILLWELL CHASE, III,  67, of Wheeling, WV , passed away Sunday, January 17, 2021. 

He was born in Youngstown, OH on October 21, 1953, the son of the late Nathanial Stillwell Chase, Jr. and Eleanor (Perry) Chase-Good, who survives him.

He was employed as a manager at Krogers in St. Clairsville, OH.

He was a member of First Christian Church/ Disciples of Christ; Warwood Lions Club, St. Clairsville Eagles and Faith in Action of Wheeling.

​In addition to his wife, Donna (DeFranco) Chase, he is survived by his mother and sister, Marie (Ted) Fessler; sister, Jane (Karl) Kuhlke; brother, David (Melanie) Chase; sister, Julia (Peter) Honious.

  
No visitation or service will be held at this time.​
